I have a mixture of Hunter and Rainbird sprinkler rotors. These fit the rotor and work fine on both. They allow you to work on the head without trying to hold pressure against the spring. You pull up the rotor head and snap one of these on. It stays up hands free and you can change nozzles, clear debris, or adjust as needed. It's not something you will use often but it is useful when you do need it. Keep one by the sprinkler controller so you know where it is when you need it. The price is reasonable even if it is just a piece of shaped plastic. The utility makes it worth it.

This works great in keeping the spray nozzle on the Hunter PGP sprinklers accessible. It's almost impossible to work on them otherwise. The instructions that I have for the sprinklers says it is "optional". It isn't.
