I was looking for a better dosing funnel to go with my Breville Barista Express espresso machine. I really like this one over the stock one for several reasons:- Since it is just aluminum, it is dishwashable- It fits over my third party portafilters and baskets more securelyIn addition, it also still works just a fine as the stock one when it comes to fitting into the grinder.In all I really like this dosing funnel and have absolutely no problems with it! Very pleased.

This RVRQWQ 54mm Espresso Dosing Funnel is a bit of a snug fit on my breville espresso machine, but it definitely helps to make the process so much less messy. I recently have gotten into the measuring/weighing of the beans/shot which makes the coffee much better, but the process so much longer/messier. I am thankful for the dosing funnel which helps to prevent the grounds from falling all over the machine when grinding.

This is one of those products that I procrastinated on getting for a while and, now that I've used it, regret not getting it sooner. It easily snaps on to our Breville portafilter and makes it so that I can literally dump the coffee grinds from the output of our grinder into the portafilter. While this doesn't seem like a big deal, I was constantly accidentally knocking out grinds and making a huge mess. When you're the type of person who likes to sleep in until the last possible minute, these things can screw with your day. I just feel like it makes the whole process run much more smoothly. Highly recommend.

I like strong espresso. Really strong. I jam as much coffee into the portafilter as I can. I always have to fill the portafilter in three steps so a lot of grounds don't fall out of the filter when I fill it. I would fill it about 2/3 of the way, tamp it down, fill a little more and tamp it down, and do a final fill and tamp it down. The last two fills were timed counts in my head and weren't always the right amount. Sometimes I would have too much and then I would have to shave some grounds off so the portafilter would fit in the machine. With this adapter I can set the amount that will fill the portafilter with one grind and tamp it in the adapter. I have the right amount of coffee in the portafilter and don't lose any grounds from overflow. I like to keep my machine and my work area clean and neat. This adapter helps keep everything tidy but more importantly, it helps me make a jumbo latte with the right amount of coffee every time!

First off, if you're looking to buy this as a general dosing funnel, note that it's pretty specifically made for Breville machines. The funnel is only going to fit their 54mm portafilter size, and the design of the notches is specific to their machines' grinder spouts. Out of curiosity I did try to see if I could fit it on with my Baratza Sette and it simply won't work.That said, as a funnel for the Breville's built-in grinder it works pretty well! I usually only have issues with overflow when using darker roasts (since I tend to dose higher for those), and having a funnel helps a ton with spillage. This funnel fits on the portafilter nicely, but is a pretty tight fit. Taking it off before finishing your puck prep pretty much isn't an option, as you're almost certainly going to spill more than without the funnel by trying to take the dang thing off. This may or may not be an issue depending on your workflow -- if you use a WDT tool and not a disc-shaped leveler, you should be fine to prep and tamp before taking the funnel off, but a leveler is pretty much out of the question with this thing. Overall still a nice product, but make sure it will work with your workflow before committing.

Breville portafilters fit on this.I just refrain from tightening it too much.Gives me ample room to stir the grounds without making messes.

This dosing funnel attachment works well with my breville and its built in grinder. It is secure on the portafilter, but it has scratched it a bit since it is so snug. It does allow the grounds to easily be stirred and distributed with ease and plenty of space. The only bummer is the tight fit and scratching my portafilter.
