Great idea in theory, but getting the paint into the bag reminded me of putting toothpaste back in the tube. Gravity did little so I blew air into the bag first then burped the paint into the bag, which worked until the bag ran out of burps. Next I used a rotating skewer, which seemed to help. Someone else recommended a straw.IDK, tell me what I missed.

This has saved me countless dollars in wasted varnish that skins over and clumps in the can. Varnish stores in these bags for months!

So far I've only used these for Waterlox, but it's doing a great job of that. I feel comfortable in recommending these Stop-Loss bags. I'd feel better if they were less expensive.

I've only had the bags filled for about a month, so can't speak yet about long-term storage.

It may work well to preserve expensive finishes but getting those finishes into the bag is quite difficult. A drinking straw inserted into the neck lets the air flow out and the finish to flow in, but it is a slow process. The finish I transferred was Osmo Polyx.

I use this for preserving curing oil based finishes (e.g., spar varnish, wipe-on varnish, tung oil finish). I made a small stand to hold the bags while filling them which makes it much easier. I'm able to squeeze virtually all the air out of the bag which, I hope, will allow me to keep the finishes for longer than I've been able in the cans or transferring to smaller containers.

Purchased to sfore a Min-Wax exterior polyurethane product.Only gave 4 stars because I have not yet opened the 1st quart I placed in the bag.The product now sells for $25 a quart. As soon as it's opened it begins to jelly, no matter how many times I decant it into smaller jars.Transfer into the bag was a snap using the silicon funnel. And just as the instructions stated, when done, turn the funnel upside down over night letting the finish dry. Next day, the funnel sheds the poly like a snake sheds its skin!If I can save just one quart of finish from jelling up, the kit will have paid for itself.

I was constantly struggling with having skimmed-over polyurethane after not using it for many weeks/a couple months since it can be very hard to perfectly seal cans when you're in and out of them many times over. It's also a mess to pour cleanly out of cans as well. These bags solve both of those issues very smoothly - by having a convenient little cap and nozzle - the product is perfectly sealed and VERY easy to pour for small needs which I have a need for very often. The funnel that it comes with is also VERY good at shedding the poly that dries in it after pouring through it.Never going back to the regular method again - this is a WONDERFUL game-changer for my shop.
