This is a economical replacement for your Atwood heater. I ordered it so I would have a spare on the road because you never know when the original board is going to go bad. After all, the metal panel protecting the board is not exactly waterproof. If the board does go bad, you have to either order the part, or call a tech for an expensive visit. In the meantime you will have no hot water. Water heater repair is actually one of the items most people can do themselves while on the road. I highly recommend having spare parts available on your RV. Not just this board, but other critical parts including the high/low thermostats, electric heating element, propane igniter, etc. The relief valve is also another one you want to have. I haven't actually installed this yet because it will be a spare, but it looks identical to the OEM. Now I know I am prepared for when it happens, because it will happen eventually.

We have a 2016 Winnebago fifth wheel, and when our water heater decided to stop working right when we needed it most, we were at a loss. Our hot water went out last time we were camping and after some troubleshooting my husband asked me to order this part. It was easy to remove and reinstall the new one. And, sure enough we have hot water again! He found a youtube video that showed how to quickly troubleshoot and do all of the steps. I'm thankful that this part was an option vs. replacing the whole water heater.One con is the little box that houses the part came in an Amazon envelope and you can see that the components poked the plastic bag despite being inside styrofoam and a box inside the amazon bubble envelope. It probably got squished by some larger box. Either way this one seems okay, but it could have bent the prong or broken it in shipping. May be something the company wants to consider for shipping.
