About this item

  • High Sensitivity Detection System: Equipped with a high sensitivity sensor and a flexible 10-inch gooseneck probe, this HVAC refrigerant leak detector offers accuracy detection capabilities, allowing the user to effortlessly maneuver the probe to access hard-to-reach areas. The detector can measure a wide range of leaks (CFCs, HCFCs, HFCs), with a measurement range of 0 to 1000 PPM, and measures temperature from -10 to 50°C (14 to 122°F)
  • Customizable Alarm Modes: This leak detector features three alarm modes—sound, light, and vibration—providing visual and audible alerts with different signals for air concentrations, and Customisable upper and lower alarm values (note: upper limit must be higher than lower limit), It displays white font for concentrations below the limit; intermittent vibration the screen displays white and soft beeping between the low and high limits; red font accompanied by continuous vibration and rapid beeping when concentrations exceed high limits
  • Durable & User-Friendly Design: The air condition refrigeration leak detector Constructed with a durable high-strength ABS engineering body and non-slip grip, this refrigerant leak detector is designed for reliable use in various applications. The user-friendly design includes easy-to-use buttons while requiring four AAA batteries (included), The Halogen Gas Detector is equipped with a 10-inch gooseneck probe that can be flexed for easy inspection and used to detect gas leaks in any direction by easily bending it along a pipe or in an enclosed space
  • Versatile Applications : This HVAC leak detector With its wide application range—suitable for refrigeration systems, fire extinguisher systems, chemical facilities, laboratories, environmental monitoring; Halogen gas leak detectors are used to detect refrigerant leaks in HVAC systems, air conditioners, monitor leaks of halogenated alkanes in fire extinguisher systems, used in laboratories, and measuring atmospheric concentrations of halogens gases to ensure air quality standards are met for ensuring safety and compliance with regulations
  • Precautions & Additional Features: The Halogen Gas Detector probe includes an internal air path filter to efficiently reduce interference from moisture, dust, and dirt, ensuring precise detection results, during use of this device requires precautions such as ensuring sufficient refrigerant during detection while keeping the probe clean to avoid interference affecting results

I ordered this tool because our central HVAC system may or may not have a refrigerant leak, and wanted to know whether or not the sealant that was injected into the system has done its job before spending $4k on a new evaporator coil. This meter is designed to detect halogen gasses. According to the specs it can detect a wide range of refrigerants including the R410A used by our system as well as other types of volatile gasses such as natural gas, propane, etc. The meter is capable of counting how much gas is present in PPM (parts per million), but it can't tell you what kind of gas is there.Well, neither this tool nor my fancy UV light and glasses can detect any leaks, so I guess that's a good thing? It lit up like a Christmas tree with a short blast from both my "CFC-free" compressed air duster and my "CFC-free" electronics cleaner, and not only that, but it fired even when I brought the sensor close to where I'd sprayed the cleaner later on. So as far as I can tell it works fine.
