no special tool needed, no pounding in, no effort to move it, and reusable from bike to bike. I totally like this type of top cap better. It looks good too. The piece is a quality item that says put better than the star type top cap pieces without all the hassle to install it and it is totally re-usable and transferable from one bike to the next. This is a better modern solution to stem set adjustment and tightening.
