I got this harness after my duty belt started getting a bit too heavy for my lower back and hips.I noticed an immediate change and find it much more manageable to get through my 12 hour shifts without my back constantly aching.I made some holes in the side seam of my shirts in order to effectively wear the harness and it is barely noticeable to the uninformed.

I got these to take some of the weight of my duty belt off of my waist. On my belt I have a taser, leg restraints, pepper spray, baton, gun, and ammo. Since these only have two attachment points it tended to cant everything in front of it forward. Also the main load bearing components are velcro and don't seem very sturdy for the kind of work i need it to do.The materials seem very cheaply made for the price and I was very disappointed. I wore it for a 12 hour shift and no matter how many adjustments I made between calls, something was always digging in where it shouldn't.I ended up returning them and getting some Blauer suspenders and couldn't be happier.Overall a very disappointing experience.

Bon produit, j’ai choisi ce produit car les ancrages se font sur les côtés di ceinturon et non devant et derrière comme la plupart des brelages.Le point négatif reste le prix, 2 fois supérieur aux autres produits similaire.

As an older police officer I was looking for something to help with the weight of my duty belt. Our chief would not allow anything to be worn over our duty shirt so I found this. I was worried I would have to alter my uniform shirts but most uniform shirts including mine already have a hole sewn into the side. Check your inside side seams. Getting it on was pretty straight forward. Adjusting it takes a little bit but let me tell you it is definitely worth it. I have zero hip pain after just a few weeks. With the amount of gear we are required to carry I highly recommend you get this to reduce the stress to your hips! As a Campus Officer I do quite a bit of walking so this really helps out! So far I have had no issue with the durability or quality. I have had mine for 3 months.

The best, most comfortable suspenders ever. Pulls your duty belt up on the sides instead of front and back. Light weight, no extra bulk under your vest. I highly recommended this set. Yes a bit pricey but well worth it.

I found these would unsnap after a few months of regular use. They are overall not as comfortable as other ones I've worn.I find Blauer makes a much better pair for daily use.

I'm on my second pair of these. I love how they fit and hold my duty belt up! I like the two points of attachment to my belt. First pair ripped on the shoulder area, I would expect better quality from Blackhawk. Overall, buy them, you'll love them. I wear them under my shirt but over my vest. I had to make a small cut on the seam of both sides of my uniform shirt just above my duty belt. Nice quick release feature, can have your belt off in seconds. Easily holds all the weight of my fully loaded duty belt. Been wearing these for about a year now, never go back to a no suspender rig.

Right side strap snapped after just the 3rd shift. Product worked great up until that point and really alleviated the pain in my hips from all the gear. Amazon is sending a replacement so I'm hoping it last longer than 3 shifts.

Here's a bit of my background: LEO and former Marine. Swat operator, 5'10", 195 pounds, 42" chest, 32" waist. I had to readjust my gear after Ford Crown Victorias were discontinued and our department went to a much smaller Chevy Caprice. End result being my duty belt being front loaded, causing stress and pain. Looked at several options before purchasing these to see if they would even help. After three months..Pros: Immediate relief from the weight and pressure on my hips. The nylon keepers were barely noticeable with basketweave gear, and the buckles were small enough to not catch on gear and strong enough to hold the duty belt (22 pounds currently). Did not need to adjust or tailor my uniform (5.11 PDU) as they already have a mic hole near the side seam. Have had coworkers tell me their sciatic nerve pain was gone after continued use.Cons: No sizing chart!! Mediums were adjustable and worked for me, but too tight around the shoulders, where all the weight is transferred. The material around the shoulders is stiff and feels cheap, though it does carry the weight. Velcro adjustable straps can be a pain to adjust alone. No options for basketweave keepers like other duty suspenders. Had the velcro strap ends unsnap once during work.Recommendations: Go large! You can always tailor down, but cannot add. Have a buddy adjust the velcro straps for you as u wear it and make sure the elastic bands hold the velcro ends in place. Make sure you measure the location and size of the buckles if you need to tailor your uniform. Keep in mind, this only provides TWO points of contact, so adjust your gear accordingly.I will update my review as I continue to wear them and see how they last. Might go up a size to see how they fit.

Just purchased this harness and have begun wearing it on shift. I must say its very comfortable and the two point setup is great. It distributes the weight evenly and the pads on the shoulders work well and don't dig into my blades. I'm 6'4 and the XL setup for me was a great choice. I keep the snaps connected to my duty belt and simply put my duty belt on, put on the harness and connect the snaps on my belt with the harness loosely, and simply cinch it down to where it feels the weight is distributed evenly.Tip: when you connect the harness to your duty belt, grab the straps on each side and start jumping up and down. It makes it really easy to get a snug cinch between the harness and your duty gear, especially if you keep a ton of equipment on your belt.Great product and money well spent.

After doing a lot research to resolve lower back issues from wearing a duty belt for many years. The Blackhawk Ergonomic Black Duty Harness is very well made and fit my needs. With minimal alteration to uniform shirts for the pass through of harness and your duty is supported on your shoulders giving you relief from the pull of the duty belt. The harness connects to your duty belt with a nylon belt keeper via quick release buckle. What I like about this system is hidden under the shirt. The over the shirt works well but I don't like the look. This system is also listed the NIJ website.

I have had these for some time, recommended them to others, but less that four months, the attachment to the rear arm ripped and came apart. They are a great concept, but the build is a little cheap and not the quality I would expect from Blackhawk. I am considering an H harness type setup, but if these were built sturdier, they would be five stars all the way.

This is exactly what they say it is, a great system. After just two shifts I've noticed improvements in my lower back. My only complaint is the inabilty to find sizing recomendations. I am 5'10, 195lbs athletic build. I wear medium 5.11 uniform shirts over my body armor and they fit well. I bought the small/medium. After a few weeks I am much more comfortable in this size. I tailored my shirts to wear this under them. Tailoring the shirts was easy enough if you have a sewing machine with a button hole foot, I had to make the button hole larger than I thought for the buckle to slide through without stretching or snagging. Practice on a scrap fabric, you can DIY this with minimal sewing experience. Its easily worth the $60, and the construction is simple enough to modify if the sizing is off. Just add a nylon loop and another square ring to lengthen each of the four attachment points and you can still use the nylon velcro strap for fine adjustments.
