With the advent of screw in choke tubes many shooters forget that the heat and extended times the tube is in the shotgun that they become impossible to remove. I started to use Carlson choke tube lube and have never had an issue. Thin coating on the threads is all that is needed and it is good for many years.

I guess this stuff if formulated with graphite or a similar compound. Does the job it's marketed for, but I've found regular firearms grease does the same thing, and cleaner to use.

I had very high hopes for this product as Carlson's is a highly rated choke tube Manufacture.NOT! And I say this for very two good reasons.1. This lube in nothing but that nasty grey anti seize I'd use on.... say bolts in an automotive application.And if you know the stuff I'm talking about you also know how hard it is to get off any thing it touches.It's akin to new born baby poo.This means your fingers are now stained for the next two days. And God help you if you get it on clothes.Stained for ever. My nice UK Tweed shooting vest is screwed.Not to mention how gummed up the threads in the barrel became. It took me nearly an hour and a halve to clean my over under and the chokes that I had used that week end.Just buy some Permatex White Lithium greases and save your self some grief and heart ache. It wipes right off. Please be prewarned.2. The two new Skeet tubes from Carlson's do not fit in my Caesar Guerrini. You can get one in but not the other because the knurling binds on the other tubes knurling. Same issue with any of the stock tubes that came with the gun.Come on boy's, realy?

I don’t use a lot of different chokes but this product has been very useful and gives me the assurance I will be able to remove the choke when I want to.

Great lubricant for guns with extended chokes. Keeps rust from starting to form on the inside of the gun barrel.
