I used this for my remote HAM radio activations. It's versatile, well-made, and simple to use.

I agree with a YouTube expert of POTA activations, Michael, this jaw clamp is a great convenience. Rugged and adaptable for many grip points. The twist on the side provides a secure anchor. This should last the rest of my life, but if not, I'd buy another one.

This clamp opens to 2 5/8 inches. Easily clamps on the edge of a 2x4. Will clamp pipe wood table top tree limb etc.. small hole is drilled so if you are using as an antenna mount the counterpoise can be attached. The unit excepts a 3/8 NF antenna lug. Supports a 10 meter whip easily, on a lite wind day a 17 telescopic whip could be used. Very Good value for the price. I will buy again. Great quick antenna clamp for POTAThe hex head bolts used on the swivel….the hex wrench needed to swivel must be kept up with….bolts could be changed easily to standard heads and tightened with a wrench or pliers your choice. 73

well made and just about fits the bar that I have it fitted to,I was also wondering if they did one that would take an SO239 mount.

This is a well made quality quick mount that will accomidate any standard SO-239 stud mount with its 1/2 inch hole. I am using this mount to clamp on to my aluminum balcony, and it holds with rigidity. I like that it is easily rotatable for horizontal or vertical orientation and has a small hole to connect a radial wire if needed. I would recommend this product for amateur radio portable or permanent antenna mounting.

This item sells for much more from other vendors... this item is well made. Quick note, you WILL need to purchase your own 3/8 24 antenna mount, as one is NOT included.

This is made by Workman Electronics out of Ohio. It's what I would call a "bulldog clip." The thing is just incredibly handy to have along on a radio outing. You can attach vertical whips to it, or you can use it for holding up one end of a wire. It's basically adjustable to about 2.5" wide, and it has sharp "teeth" that grab onto a metal fence, railing or bench. Very handy and highly rated. Chameleon Antenna sells one of these that they buy and relabel and they charge twice as much for it.

The QRC3 is an excellent utilitarian mount for portable/packable verticals. I can't say for certain, but it looks to be the same OEM mount included with a certain antenna manufacturer's clever "Jaw Mount" product (a company known for rugged high-quality antennas). In any case, the build quality here is excellent. Some reasons why I think this mount is pretty great:- 180º swivel can be set anywhere throughout its range, allowing attachment to lopsided structures- Clamp grasps objects from ~3" thick to skinnier "masts" than could support an antenna- Thoughtfully placed ~#8 hole makes adding a counterpoise connector easy- Build quality is significantly better than the typical "CB" product today- The mount I received shows none of the poor workmanship / sloppy machining mentioned by a previous reviewer- Surprisingly compact: fits my Super Antenna go bag nicely, alongside other add-on hardware- When operating near developed land—and often not—there's always something to leverage as a base (convenience optional)- Metal fences = instant ground plane- Suitable for end-feeding single wire antennas when clamped to an adequate RF ground- Build a dipole adapter with minimal work: drill a section of bar stock for opposing studs, or one stud and a 3/8x24 threaded holeAnd the cons:- The mount is chromed. I think chrome is ugly. Considering my only con is purely subjective, I'd say this product is a big win.I wish I knew about this mount sooner. IMO, it's indispensable addition to the kit of anyone involved with any kind of portable ops. There's a good chance I won't be dragging along a tripod anymore for park/lakefront ops.
