These cake boxes are a bit flimsy. I do not believe they would support a heavy cake. Once you remove the protective film, they look decent, but still look a bit cheap. Also, there were no instructions on how to put these together, but I got it figured out. I actually thought when I ordered these from Amazon that the clear covers were a one piece box that sits on a plastic base. The base is a form of cardboard. I did not realize that they were thin plastic that had to be put together. At first, I thought the plastic was not clear, and I had to go back to the Amazon listing to find out that they had a protective film on them. If instructions had been included, that would probably have been mentioned.

But the No instructions puzzled me and my daughter for a while-the base is black cardboard which is fien for small cakes, not so sure about anything larger when it comes to durability and carrying it. The design on the plastic walls is thin and they caved in so I almost thought they would touch the cake but once attached to the base they stayed open..The listing has directions on how to peel the film but until I looked at that I was thinking to myself that they are dirty and there is no way I'm putting a cake in there. lol
