I have a 2004 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro Ultrasport, the fuel pump ended up going out on me and I knew the stupid in-tank mounted lock ring needed a tool to remove it. So I bought this "tool" and started pulling the old pump out, but wait I got to the inner section where this tool is supposed to come in handy and NOPE. Not even close fitment whatsoever! Doesn't even line up with the OEM tabs that this tool needs to lay on to remove the lower section. Upon closer look at this tool, ITS NOT EVEN IN THE SHAPE OF A CIRCLE! The bottom of the tool was squashed and was more oval shape than anything with the tabs PRESSED BACK IN. Complete waste of time and money. This is 10000% getting sent back. DO NOT BUY THIS. You're better off using two oversized scrapers / flat heads to rotate the bottom section. Again, this is a HUGE waste of money. DO NOT PURCHASE.

This fuel pump tool saved me a lot of time and trouble removing and installing a fuel pump on my 2002 Audi. It fits perfectly, and it was very easy to press down on the tool and unlock / re-lock the plastic pump housing with it even with my bare hands. It made the job very easy. It has a place on top to attach a 1/2" drive socket wrench if needed. Contrary to some reviews on here, I found the tool to be very sturdy. It is made of some very thick welded steel. Whoever said that this tool bends must have had a gorilla working on their car or not had a clue what they were doing. I don't know how you could bend this thing without applying enough force to tear the fuel pump mount out of the bottom of the tank.

took out the fuel pump easily with this tool.I don't have an audi anymore but I'm gonna keep this tool for my future audi.

The tool bends every time I use it and has only been used it twice. I have to straighten it back out every time and for the cost it should not be bending at all. The handle is the only sturdy part. The bottom part that sits on the pump keeps bending and does not sit down on the pump evenly. I been trying to get warranty information and every time I contact it says info is invalid. And customer service has been no help either

I almost didnt order this because it didnt say it works on the b5 a4 but that didnt make sense to me because the passat and the a4 use the same pump as the are both b5s. So dispite saying it didnt work I order it and took a chance, and it worked like a charm. I advise updating the fitment to avoid confusion.

Needed this for replacing fuel pump in 4 cylinder AWD VW Passat. Tried to remove fuel pump by twisting with my hands and could not get a good grip without fear of breaking the fuel pump apart and having small bits of plastic sitting in the bottom of the tank. While still difficult to find the right angle to get the tool inside the fuel tank, once in with a 1/2" ratchet wrench on top, it popped the pump loose without a problem. Same issue putting the new pump in. You need this tool to lock the new fuel pump into place. it is a little expensive for a tool that chances are you will only use once. However, it is the right tool for the right job.

Excellent quality tool that makes the expensive and messy job of changing the in-tank fuel pump as easy as it can be without breaking anything.I think it's a bit overpriced, but most German auto tools and parts are!
