Product Description

Make dryer vent installation quick and easy while protecting the duct with our Easy Connecting Dryer Vent Hook Up Kit. 1 semi-rigid aluminum duct (8’ long) twists into the white polypropylene Hooker-Upper attachments, which slide into place over the dryer vent and outlet pipe. No clamps, tools or tape are needed. Some dryers require the included gasket for a proper fit. The Hooker-Upper protectors are designed to prevent the duct from being smashed behind the dryer, which helps prevent unsafe dryer operation and longer dryer times. Deflecto was founded on innovative, problem solving products. For over a half century, we have built a tradition of discovering and meeting needs with invention and dependable manufacturing. Worked really well and the plastic ends made really easy to hook up to the dryer!

Easy to install initially. I like the concept, but it’s fallen out on a few occasions. Sick of that sort of occurrence with lint flying all over the laundry room, so I had to tape it to the wall. That said, it’s just an overpriced dryer duct to me. I do like the semi rigid duct, though. I’ve had it for 3+ years.

I know there's many bad or meh reviews for this product but it was a genius design for my use. First, the aluminum tube is the same crappy quality as you get for the same price at any of the big box home improvement stores and this one is cheaper, than many of those. I, unfortunately, have had to buy many over the years. The genius is in the couplers at each end. I, a complete klutz at even the simplest home maintenance task, had no problems connecting the couplers. It was easy!!! And didn't even indent the aluminum tube.Lengthening the tube seemed easier and less damaging than many off my previous purchases. Now the payoff: each end of the duct went effortlessly onto the dryer and the wall vent pipes. No painful time spent trying to get the duct onto them far enough to screw the clamp tight because there was no clamp!!!Easy! Great value. Will definitely buy again if necessary.

I ordered a dryer and when they delivered it(6 days late) they had the wrong power connection and left in a hurry with no vent hose..so I was already frustrated, BUT I ordered this on Amazon and 2 days later it came. I just came home from working a long 11 hours today and knew I had to hook it up. To my surprise this product is AMAZING. Took me about 30 seconds to screw on end caps. Had my father in law hold one side while I pulled the other to stretch the 8ft. Side note, don't pull hard, it's strong material, but still can rip easy. Took me about 10 seconds to hook it up to my dryer and another 10 seconds to hook it up to the output. The job took less the 5 mins with ease. I paid 10 dollars for this and hands down worth every penny.

Please believe me. I am one who reads reviews and contemplates if the person is complaining or has a valid review of a product. I should have listened on this one.Upon receiving my order, I opened the box and it looked great. Just what I wanted! Perfect. I sat it aside until it was time to hook my dryer back up after doing a short remodel of my laundry room. My short remodel lasted a few weeks longer than I hoped.First mistake, I let my return window pass before trying to install this bad boy. I had no problems feeding the ends of the plastic ends to the duct. It was easy...after I realized the instructions were wrong. The instructions tell you go turn it one way, which I did. Tore up the end on the first try. Good thing there is an arrow on the plastic part that tells your the correct way to fasten the plastic end to the duct. Other end worked great after realizing the instructions were incorrect on the other end. However, as I went to attach it to my dryer and the wall vent, as instructed, things went horribly wrong. The duct started splitting and unraveling. That is when I discovered my first mistake - went I went to fill out a return on Amazon - it was too late...return window had passed...so now I am out $20. Yes, my fault.I would take photos, but I have to run to the store and buy another one. I need to do some laundry. Please take my advice. Do not buy this thing.

I wrestled with those flimsy aluminum pieces you buy at the box stores and did nothing but cuss and cut myself. My vent hook up is located inside a wooden pedestal someone built for the water heater. Stupid set up, but that's what it is. In order to hook up my vent I could only use one arm and it was difficult, to say the least, to try and get the usual tubing onto the vent without crushing it and forget about securing it with the clamps! I keep wondering who makes a 4" tube to fit on a 4"vent? ...makes absolutely no sense. This product saved my sanity. It slipped on easily but is firmly attached. It's been several months now and it is working like a charm. The aluminum is tough, but not so tough that it can't be manipulated and the fittings on each end are amazing. I highly recommend this product! BRAVO DEFLECTO!

Our dryer had the 'slinky'-foil exhaust duct originally. Those are lint traps in and of themselves and are easily pinched off and impede airflow. So, if your goal is to smash your dryer back against a wall as far as you can, buy more 'slinky' duct. This duct is not for you! This duct kit is a good compromise between ridged, cut to fit duct and 'slinky' duct. But it needs to be handled properly when installing.Hint 1: To install the white hose caps, gently expand the end of duct end from the edge for about 1/2". That will spread the ribs of the duct enough to for the threads on the inside of the end-cap to screw on. Note that the end-cap screws on in the opposite direction than what you would think (there's a arrow molded into the cap.) You'll need to hold the duct firmly (without crushing) to screw the end-cap on. You can do it yourself if you have big hands but you may need a helper for this. I did it by sitting down with the duct across my lap and hugging the duct against my gut while twisting on each end-cap (it will get quite hard to turn).Hint 2: The end-caps have a flange to prevent you from crushing the hose against the wall for the inevitable 90 degree turns needed at each. Slide an end-cap onto the wall duct first. Position the white flange away from the you'll be bending the first turn, then gently stretch and turn the duct only as much as needed to guide it toward the dryer duct. Slide that other end-cap onto the dryer and test.Hint 3: If you have a stacked washer/dryer setup you have more hoses and cords to deal with as you guide the duct to its destination. Cords and hoses are usually more flexible so give the duct the straightest path you can. (Use zip-ties to gather hoses and cords out of the way.)Hint 4: If you accidentally crush a section of the duct, slide you arm int and push the dent back out from the inside as much as possible. (Don't ask me how I know that!!)
