Designed for snipping tippet tag ends, clipping off flies, cutting leader material, cleaning hook eyes, sharpening hooks, or tying nail knots, these nippers are the workhorses of the fishing world. All nippers are 2” and have super sharp blades, an industrial strength hook eye cleaning pin, and a built-in hook file. Knot-tying models have an easy-to-use nail knot tube attached. Innovative offset or slanted blade face is designed to work in tight to flies and snip tag ends of tippet without cutting hackles or materials.

Not the sharpest, but the angle is king

I don't think I'll ever buy another straight edged nipper. For some reason, its much easier to cut a short tag end with angled nippers.

It rusted even though I didn't use it for saltwater fishing. I went back to regular nail clippers.

After one season of cutting mostly 4x and 5x fly fishing tippets and leaders the nippers lost their sharpnes. Not very impressed.

I really like Dr. Slick products. I have owned several of their nippers and hemostats, and they never disappoint (except when they're dropped in the river and lost!). Simple, clean design, quality materials, and flawless function. Get some.

The nippers came ahead of schdule , well packaged and very sharp . These nippers cut through fishing line with one clip . I think all trout and bass fishermen should have at least two of Dr, Slick Offset Nippers , if you lose the first set you will have additional one for a back-up ! I would never go fishing without them ! AYE !

I regularly fish headwaters mountain streams in Oregon while trail running with an ultralight tenkara outfit and was looking for a simple, reliable nipper to bungie to my fly float for quick access while moving from hole to hole. This nipper is perfect for my needs - sharp, excellent for clearing head cement from clogged eyelets of tiny flies while standing thigh deep in cold, rushing water and the angled blades make it easier to nip just where you need to without cutting through the your hard won knots. Very good quality, sharp (snips through tippet and line the first go) and perfect for the job. If you don't need a nipper to cut through dyneema/braided line, this should do the job for you and save lots of $$$ versus the higher end competitors which cost many times more. Highly recommended - buy two to have one close at hand no matter what.
