I needed a short scale set of 5 strings and this set was one of a very few available. Turns out, these sound great. Very bright, and even the B string holds its own. They seem to last a good while as well, not losing too much brightness over time. I'm doing another 5 string, short scale build soon, and I'll buy another set. Highly recommended.

These are great hard to find for strings (120 or higher) for a short scale I have a four string bass had to buy 5 string bass strings Save the 45 from the setGreat sounds badass Don’t forget to check your neck tension

These are great for a bright sound. For me, it's a short scale active bass that I want to have a modern, hi-fi bass guitar tone. Another use might be to add clarity for a vintage-style bass with a large humbucker mounted in the neck position, like Gibson EB or SG bass. Might be too much for something like a J bass.

There is nothing wrong with these strings! However, I write this FYI. I bought a Short Scale MusicMan (only one of 150) and since I play a StingRay5 thought I'd convert my Short scale to B E A D and toss the G. It turned out to be a very muddy mess so I bought some La Bella Medium Flat-wounds and put it back to E A D G. It sounds great and I just have to get the brain to think again...… I'm 68 and I've been playing bass for over 44 years.
