Keeps my living room warm (10'x17') and cozy. When heating the room, this one has a box of some sort underneath that lights up bright red and (to me) distracts from the fireplace ambiance. `Now I am focused looking at the bright red box. To describe, you have a fireplace stove with a somewhat realistic illusion of flames inside. Periodically however, right underneath it turns BRIGHT red when the heater runs. My 10 year old one (exact model) had some sort of shielding over the bottom (I think the air vents opened downward or upward?) so the heater box while working was not visible, nor distracting. Small detail to some. The ad says it has realistic flames so.....why not the rest?Does the job, its safe, the remote is convenient for on off but does not control heat output.

My boston terrier has become obsessed with this heater and shoves his face in it point blank for as long as we allow it. Every time I turn it off, or it turns off by means of the thermostat, he lets out a deep sigh of frustration. This dog is no-good, but the heater is delightful. When deciding to purchase it, I was considering a different model that was double the price but looked more beautiful. I'm glad I chose this one. Blowing the hot air from the bottom is a huge boon as it warms cool feet and causes the heat to carry further distances before rising to the ceiling. I do wish the remote control had thermostat adjustments. It only has adjustments for the visual portions and a toggle for the heating. We always leave the visuals set to maximum, so the two buttons on the remote for adjusting visuals see no use.

We Love our Duraflame Freestanding Quartz Fireplace Stove we purchased it for our bedroom as it gets real cold during the winter months and it heats it great and the thermostat works great is it goes on and off to keep the temperature just right in our bedroom also just the way it looks is great

I am so incredibly happy with this purchase! While the automated flames are delightful to watch, the real beauty is its ability to heat. I have approximately 500 square ft area. Our outside temperature today was 8 degrees. My apartment was 55. The temperature went up 8 degrees in 2 hours. I am incredibly pleased and highly recommend this heater, especially at the low cost.

This thing is built like it’s a child’s toy. Legs are plastic and the door is plastic.But worst of all (as I now see a review states) there’s no thermostat! Yet many of the reviews mixed in on this item that are for a different model number say that there is a thermostat.DFI-550-39 does not have a thermostat. It’s on until you shut it off which is crazy bad.Also, it shut itself off after about an hour and the remote doesn’t work, even with trying my own fresh batteries.Waste of time assembling it; it’s going right back.

We purchased this in December of 2023 and used it daily when it was cold. As we began using it this winter the heating element stopped working. We realized it just needed a good cleaning of the dust inside and outside and now it's working just fine.

I love this heater it's so cute have another one just like it ! Heats a large room really well. Especially if it can be closed off. Flame look realistic and adjustable. Had my other one over 5yrs. and still going. Hope this one last as long. Love the cream color goes with everything. Price was good too.

Cheaply made. Flimsy. Don't know how it got so many 5 stars. Deserves a zero. Bulb was not working and had to replace. The bulb always stays on even when unit is off. It's noisy. It's an expensive piece of junk and I'm being nice about that.

This is an excellent space heater. We have three of them for different rooms. And we just bought one for a family member. The remote control they add just enough heat to warm up a room and not make it too hot. Very well made quality product. Doesn't weigh too much. It's very easy to move around and extremely quiet.

It doesn't heat as well as I expected an infrared heater rated for 1,000 square feet would. I've had a standard electric stove in the past, smaller than this one, which put out approximately the same heat. Also fairly noisy.
