This makes adding a carbon monoxide detector as simple as it gets. No drilling into the ceiling or running wires to it, just put in the back-up battery and plug it into any outlet. I have a gas furnace and while I have a carbon monoxide detector upstairs where the heat comes out, I wanted one in the basement near the actual furnace as an added layer of protection. It's easy to see at a glance if the levels are good as the display shows green. It's also rated as good for 10 years, so it's very cheap insurance against a potentially lethal odorless gas.

I really like this CO detector. The fact that it plugs in and has a battery backup is a plus. Some people want the digital readout, and I understand that. But to have it turn read and beep when it detects ANY CO is enough for me to move my rear end and get the heck away. Nice enough to take on vacation, also. 5-stars

You read all the time about tragic events where people die of carbon monoxide poisoning in a hotel or rental because someone else failed to properly maintain equipment. So I always like to travel with a carbon monoxide detector as a safety precaution. This is the best one I have found for several reasons:1) It plugs into an outlet but also has a backup battery in case power goes out. Other detectors I have are either battery operated or plug-in, but not both.2) The plug folds into the device, making it easier to travel with.3) It has a prominent LED, along with an audible alarm, to alert you to the presence of carbon monoxide. This LED is green when the device is detecting and red when it detects gas. Another real plus is that it is yellow when the sensor wears out and the device needs to be replaced. Since carbon monoxide detectors have a limited lifetime (this one says it is 10 years, something I have not yet been able to test), this kind of warning is very useful!4) This device is much smaller than some other carbon monoxide detectors I have, again making it easier to travel with.I recommend that everyone travel with a carbon monoxide detector (and have one at home!)--it can prevent a tragedy.

This CO detector is great for home use, easy to read and understand. It has a battery backup for when the power goes out and allows you to sleep peacefully. The sensor is rated for 10 years, which is double the 5-year units sold at my local stores. It is well-made and attractive to all who see it.I recommend this CO detector.

Like the style of it. It works as a night light as well. It came real fast & was a reasonable price.

This CO detector is great for home use. It is also small enough for use during travel if needed. The unit has a wall plug that fold flat. This can power the unit without the need to drain the backup battery. A small CR123A backup battery is included with the package. The CO detector is rated to last 10 years. It has color LED lights as visual indicator as well as audio alarm, and the alarm is loud. Installation is simple as plugging in a CO detector to the wall plug. I put this in my kitchen as I like the visual display. I like this design and I highly recommend this product.

Have used and tested in high CO2 environment, it works great and immediately alerted of high CO2. Using it in living room and multiple rooms. Foldable power connector and plugs directly into an outlet so never have to worry about wires or batteries. Now permanently in Kitchen connected to one of main outlets. Always there, monitoring. The alert is loud and you can't miss it's notification. Also lot of convenience factor since you can move it around where needed without having to mount it. Great for traveling, just plug it into any outlet and you're good to g, (just remember to get it back :).

I own a few different Carbon Monoxide detectors so I have a good idea of what features I like. All models should include a battery - including those that plug into the wall. My preference is for wall plug models with a battery backup. Not only does this help the battery life, but it also makes it possible to provide a visual indication that the detector is working. In this case a pleasant green light (Shown) indicates safe levels and a red light (shown) indicates unsafe levels. What is the threshhold between safe and unsafe? who knows? Wouldn't you prefer to know the exact levels with a digital display? If you do, spend a few extra dollars and get this one with a gorgeous color display https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DMJBD5V7If you want a second or third detector for added safety, a digital display would be an overkill so get one of these instead. I like this more than the comparible Kidde brand because the indicator lights are instinctive and easy to see.
