I haven't installed this pickup yet. -I'm still building the bass body, then the neck, then hardware...But, it tests out ok and looks good. The metal cover is finished well. No pits or blemishes on the chrome.The base of the pickup itself seems to be of good quality. The Alnico 5 magnet should do its part in creating a great signal along with the coils.Yes, the pickup cover is a throwback to the times of uncovered pickups, but it will add a little shine to the front of this bass.I can't wait to install it.If things are wonky after I install I will update. Assume it sounds great and works well if there are no updates.

This pickup fills a niche that has existed for a long time. Finally, there is an affordable Ric-style pickup on the market.There is a good amount of output, although the chrome is more Squire/Epiphone/GFS quality. I suppose this is to be expected at this price point.The sound is very good, and this unique sound/style was previously unavailable in this price range.
