This mailbox looks very nice. It's a good size for just regular mail. I made a mistake in ordering it tho cause it's plastic-ish, not metal. I normally put magnetic mail box covers on my mailbox and that could not be done on this plastic mailbox. Besides that, it looks nice.

Just received the mailbox. Very solid. Feels like quality. Actually, the texture black aluminium looks better than in the pictures.

This was a replacement for a 15 year old model by the same company, but this is much sturdier and includes metal closure clips as opposed to plastic on the old one, which broke off years ago. It's rare that products get better with time, but this one did. That's a big relief as it's the only one approved in our HOA.

I live in Florida and was looking for an alternative to a plastic mailbox, that would hold up to the saltwater environment.I live on the water just a eighth of a mile from the Gulf of Mexico. Anything made out of metal regardless of how it is coded or painted seems to rust after only a couple years. This being aluminum I'm hoping will last for a very long time. I will say I was very careful handling it due to the fact that I think the aluminum would dent fairly easily. Though it seems quite sturdy. I think during normal usage this should not be an issue. I'll give it five stars until it's proven wrong. I'm hopeful that it will fulfill my expectations. I will update this review if necessary.

Gibraltar Mailboxes ADM11B01 Admiral Mailbox: $38.71 at the time of reviewWe’ve lived in our house for a while now and I’ve never gotten around to swapping out the mailbox. This is a little surprising, as every winter we run into the same issue of our mail getting soaked when it rains. So that was item number one on the new mailbox checklist: get a waterproof mailbox. The patented door design looked like a good place to start so I gave this one from Gibraltar a shot.*What I liked*:This is a classic Postmaster General approved design. I wasn’t looking for fancy, but I did like the black powder coating.The door design is great and does seem to keep the water out for the most part.The outgoing mail flag on the side is equally sturdy and stays put no matter which way it is oriented.*What I didn't like*:Unfortunately, the door works well, but the sides of the mailbox are not equally protected. They flexed a little upon install leaving gaps that a good winter storm will blow water straight through. I used some waterproof silicone caulk to seal the cracks, but only time will tell whether or not it holds.*The Bottom Line:*Overall this is a great mailbox. The issue of opening in the sides is only serious if you get big winter storms (we do). I think it would probably work for most people. Four stars out of five for an old reliable. I would order this again and address my one issue the same way.

So many of the mail boxes have plastic parts on them. They’re cheap and don’t last. The plastic parts break and then the door won’t close properly or won’t stay closed at all. It’s worth spending a bit more to get a mailbox that will last for many years.

Superior quality! Because I had originally wanted to get my broken old mailbox quickly replaced I had bought a mailbox from the local hardware store. upon opening the box was quite dismayed by the cheap material and poor craftsmanship and decided to scout out options on Amazon. This one caught my eye, I watched the accompanying video, and was impressed by the rain protection design on the door. So I bought it, put the old one back on the stand and patiently waited a few days for it’s arrival. I came sooner than expected, installed easily and is the best mailbox I have ever had! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Nice box. Good Matte Finish. Installed it right on my old post without issue. Had to cut down the wood base a bit to account for the horizontal support about 1-2 inches in on the base of the box. The quality of this box is better than my old one, so definitely worth the extra money. I like the double lined lid, to help prevent moisture from getting inside. Handled the first snowstorm without issue, and no wet mail. Now if we can get the postman to actually shut the box fully that would be a miracle. The next project will be to put a spring hinge on the box to ensure it snaps close.

Matches perfectly with the simple black post [purchased separately]. This mailbox is sturdier than some I found in the big-box stores, was easy enough to attach to the post, and so far, after about 6 months, continues to operate well. No visible signs of rust, the door opens and closes smoothly and quietly, the flag raises and lowers easily and doesn't scrape against the side of the box. Very pleased with this purchase.
