First bought this in 2018. 2 yrs ago It was hit by a car and did damage to the car and none to the mailbox. This year, hit by a large delivery truck. The concrete base was cracked, mailbox bent badly and caved in on the front. But still functioned!! I expected the post to be bent, it was not! I love this mailbox, and this vendor that sells it. What a great, sturdy, solid mailbox. It easily holds four plus weeks of mail securely, locked away from thieves. The USPS had all kind of crazy rules on holding our mail. Then we rented a POB from them and forwarded our mail, delaying it 3 weeks and more crazy rules! Now we use our mailbox, mail is there when WE want it. And it cost us about what 1 year POB rental was costing, but clearly lasts, aside from huge delivery trucks hitting it that is. But they paid for the replacement.

First off, this mailbox took nearly a month to come in, and when I did, there was a hole in the bag where the keys should have been. I finally was able to contact the manufacturer-- they couldn't just send new keys, they had to send the whole lock assembly. So it cost me $50 on top of the $324 to get a mailbox that worked. For that much money, I wish I would have bought one locally so I could have seen the quality first.

I like the design and function of this lockable mailbox. It is a bigger replacement in size compare to my old normal mailbox. With its bulkier size it didn’t add a lot of weight since it is made out of aluminum entirely. This mailbox will never rust even with the paint rubbed off. That being said, since alluminium is softer, it can be dented if there are impact to its surface.Back to the review of the mailbox. It is lockable and can hold a large amount of letters/paper material and a decent amount of box packages up to 4 inches thick. When I checked it today after some extensive rainstorm, the inside is still dry.I picked this mailbox also because it has a good size outgoing section on top. It can hold about 8 unit of 2 inches thick envelope packages for postman to pick up.The negative of this mailbox is the keyhole to open the back door isn’t very smooth and can take me a little longer then I like to open the door to retrieve my mail. Another thing I wanted to mention is the mailbox is packaged pretty well with double boxed when delivered but I still see a very shallow dimple dent mark on its aluminum side. I’m not overly concerned with that as it is very minor and I don’t want to send it back or exchange due to the hassle.I didn’t buy the metal post that this mailbox company sells. Mainly because I didn’t want to dig 3 feets into the ground. The post I used is a old stout 4x4 Douglas fur left over. It goes about 15 inches into the ground with quick concrete poured around it. I am not a skill handyman but I elect to mount the post to the mailbox first and then set the whole unit onto the hole and pour the concrete over it. In my mind, I feel like that way will ensure that my mailbox is set straight. Overall very happy with this mailbox purchase from a time tested product and company.

Be aware that larger packages from Amazon and UPS will not fit through the security hatch and the shelf that was mentioned (by other comments) to be removable and expand the opening is not...It is permanent.

I had a deadline with my contractor for installation of fence and mailbox and felt so relieved that the delivery came days earlier than estimated. The quality is really sturdy. It fits packages and big envelopes. All hidden from outside reach. I like that you can open it from front - - especially from the back so I can stay inside my property.

This product was made with very thin gauge metal. And because of his poor Construction was damaged in shipping. I’ve had many postal package mailboxes and this was probably the worst constructed unit I have see.I would definitely avoid purchasing this unit again.

I scoured the options for months tormenting over this decision. I wanted a box that would accept a weeks worth of junk letter rubish, routine amazon padded envelopes, and at least the smallest boxes (it does nicely). I also wanted a box of quality worthy of cutting and installing under into my new poured wall (a major commitment at large box size!).I’m please to report upon opening & inspecting I was immediately confident in my selection and proceeded to make the giant cut in my new wall (prominently viewed from front door and curbside).Final install complete and only few days in service but I expect a good long life based on first impressions. One rub, not enough for a deduction in stars; the main delivery/outgoing door scrapes the roof badly as it passes. It’s clear I was not bent or dropped in shipping (and the most sturdy cardboard shipping box ever BTW). It’s designed too close to the roof, a miss in design. It happens, I know as a design engineer myself. I lost a fair bit of powder coating just in the 2-3 trial operations of the door before realizing it and modified the clearance on the fly by inserting a length of wire to “regap” the entire width of the door. Wished I had noticed the lack of clearance before testing the door a few times. Solution worked very well and very easy. Now, how to prevent Aluminum form oxidizing.. maybe touch up paint neededI love my installation; however I do not recommend it for the average. Very tricky cut! I built the wall and didn’t even trust myself for this cut.Jacksons Concrete Cutting!!!! If you happen to be in the San Diego county area don’t bother shopping arround or debating on whom will provide quality work. They always impress me on my jobs, but this cut was beyond surgically precise!!!!

We use a mail order pharmacy and our old locking mailbox didn't allow the mail carrier to put our medications in the box. The opening on this is large enough for all of our medicine bottles along with other small packages. The flag is sturdy (metal) and the magnetic door will prevent the wind from blowing the door open.Install was pretty easy, even though the box is big and awkward to manuever; two people make the job easier.
