Bought this to use for a wedding in June, and after just trying it out even just once, this lens is amazing!! For the price, I didn’t expect it to be as good as it is (yes I know $300 is still a lot, but for camera lenses, I also know typically the more you pay, the better the lens, and prices can be insane) but this lens is 100% worth it. It picks color up perfectly and perfect focus, and it only took me at most 5 minutes to figure out too which was super easy! It’s awesome and totally worth the buy

Just received it and took a few test shots. At 1.8 it's not as sharp as I hoped. Also the fit and finish isn't quite "pro". 1. when mounting the lens, it is so tight that I thought I was going to damage my camera. 2. the lens hood feels really cheap and flimsy. I'll test it out more and update if necessary.Update - after using it a weekIt's actually not too bad at all in real world. Sharpness is OK, AF-C works flawlessly on my active young children. Contrast is a bit lower than ideal but I don't mind it for the price. And in general I like the rendering.Only gripe is still cheap feeling hood and cover, plus the aperture ring is kind of loose and easy to change aperture by mistake. For the price I'm OK to live with that. I'm keeping the lens.
