This is a budget lens with full functionality. It has a good AF, aperture ring and the pictures look good. The only caveat that I found is that the minimum focus distance is rather large 75 cm ( 29") which is noticeably more than my Tamron 35-150 which allows me to focus at about 40 cm (16") when used at 75mm focal length. This means you need to be farther away from the subject. This should not be an issue for portraits, which is the main use case for this lens, but it is still something to note (see reference pictures). The lens does not have auto focus switch, lock or any other bells and whistles. For me personally I prefer working with a telephoto like the Tamron 35-150 as I have more creative options, or I like a manual lens for more technical shots like timelapses or other scientific applications where I need full control. This lens at this focal lens fits a very narrow niche of applications where light weight and 75mm focal length overlap, I am personally not super sure where that is but I am very glad it exists at this price point.

small "old school" type lens; everything is manual; made of metal; happy with image quality and build quality; goes well with my sony nex-6 camera; only thing i had to do was go to menu > settings > enable release w/o lens on the camera for the lens to work; and then use 'S' mode so I can change the shutter speed.

The biggest issue with this lens is the mediocre autofocus, especially in low light. The first lens I received did not autofocus at all - defective. Returned it and ordered another. The second one did autofocus (slowly) in bright daylight, but was useless in low light, especially for night photography. Even a cheap $20 pancake non-focusing lens I purchased last year on Amazon did better on my Sony A7ii. I'm baffled since multiple reviews on YouTube have been very favorable. I have the TTARTISAN 27mm and 56mm, and they are great. Too bad Ttartisan failed on the 75mm, at least according to my experience.

It is terrifying to buy third party lenses, especially if they have Auto Focus(AF) and they are unusually affordable. That seems like a deadly combination but the TTArtisan AF 27mm F2.8 E-Mount has managed to do all of the above! Working with my Sony A7RV The AF works just as good with both stills and video as my native Sony lenses or other 3x+ more expensive third-party lenses. The 27mm TTArtisan construction also feels surprisingly well built with both metal and plastic construction. The Manual aperture ring is super nice to have but given that the lens was so small it was a bit hard to reach in my Sony A7R5 – which is clearly not an APSC camera and therefore not the intended application. So the question is, what you are missing on by buying this value conscious TTArtisan over more expensive options? Well, while this lens is 95% perfect but this lens is not weather sealed, is not as sharp in some cases (barely noticeable) and you will certainly notice strong vignetting (at F2.8) and lens flairs (shooting directly to sun or lights at night). But again, at one third of the price, this lens offers outstanding value with virtually no image or AF performance compromise. Moreover, I think this small and light weight lens makes a perfect travel companion that is hard to match.

For the price, it's not bad. Quality wise, the lens feels pretty solid however, the rear lens cap is pretty bad, as it is not sturdy on the lens, and is quite wobbly. Images are sharp enough for beginner photography, nothing crazy professional but still impressive for the price. I also found that there is a bad ring glare that forms when pointing the lens towards a strong lighting source. The minimum focus distance is also quite far from the subject, as I found you must be a couple feet from the subject to shoot sharp close up images. The lens is not updated to the latest firmware out of the box, so make sure to update the firmware or else the autofocus will be very loud and slow.

Good sturdy lens. Seems to be made of good materials and build quality. Sharp crips images. Autofocus could be faster and more accurate but for the price point im impressed. Had a sigma 30mm 2.8f and this is lens is better.

Mainly use it for picture in room, quite sharp and good enough result for the price. Chinese made lens really made a leap forward. Never thought of buying a AF lens from Chinese manufacturer. But the AF seems working fine not as fast as Sony lens, good enough for beginner like me.
