I am taking a chemo drug in capsule form that is not supposed to be touched without using gloves. I didn't want to spend the money on gloves, and if I tried getting a capsule out of the bottle with gloves on they would probably end up all over the floor.So these forceps make gloves unnecessary. I can use them to remove a capsule from the bottle, drop them into a paper cup and swallow the capsule. I confess that I used a pair of pliers to straighten out the ends.

Very nice forceps that will grab a cover slip without breaking it. It makes it much easier to place a cover slip evenly without getting air bubbles underneath it. Much better than placing them by hand. The angle is comfortable for working. I’ve made dozens of slides now, and would not want to go back to placing cover slips by hand!

Great to have a bunch of flat forceps around the lab to handle membranes and stuff. Also much cheaper on the Zon compared to the overpriced scientific supplier catalogs.

Excellent for picking up bugs to study. It has rounded edges so it does harm the insects.

I just received these today. I asked a friend to order and they arrived quickly. They advertise as stainless with "Stainless Pakistan" as shown in the product photo, but I'm not sure mine are as mine only indicate "Pakistan". A quick test with magnet shows they are magnetic, not necessarily a good sign as better stainless grades usually are not. A browsing to the company website (Scientific Labwares) describes this product as "400 grade" stainless, a cheaper quality stainless and not as corrosion resistant as 300 grade, for example. Will this be a factor for future use? Maybe, maybe not. I suppose it would depend on your intended purpose, but something to be aware of.With my concerns out of the way, I will say what I really like: the paddles. I ordered a cheap five tweezer set around the same time with a total cost less than this single forceps. However, with the cheap paddle forceps, when closed, the paddles are not parallel. This could tear something sensitive like membranes, butterfly wings and such. The first thing I did was check these closed and they are parallel, uniform, and smooth the entire paddle area. If there was not the uncertainty of whether steel, cheap stainless, or good stainless, the good paddles would make this a five star.

They arrived promptly and in perfect condition. The flat paddle tip on these is great for my entomology projects. They make it easy to grab an object with a larger surface area w/o scratching it. I highly reccomend them.
