This Yeelight monitor light is exactly what I needed for my workspace. The front light beautifully adjusts from warm to cool tones, making long work sessions comfortable on my eyes. The backlight adds a nice ambient glow that's great for evening relaxation.Installation was a breeze - it securely clips onto my monitor without any glare or shadows. The build quality feels premium, and I especially appreciate how it saves desk space compared to traditional lamps.Whether you're working late or just want some cozy mood lighting, this light bar delivers excellent performance with simple, intuitive controls. Highly recommended!

Not worth the price for what it offers. Setup is frustrating—while the manual lists two apps, only Mi Home (now rebranded as Xiaomi Home) actually works. The Yeelight app is useless for this device. You also can’t use a standard USB cable; it requires the included bulky power adapter, which takes up a full outlet—annoying if your plugs are already in use.Customization is minimal, and there’s no LAN control, meaning you can’t use local commands or third-party integrations. I had planned to use screen capture with a custom-coded program to sync the light with my display, but this device doesn’t allow that at all.For the price, it’s neither user-friendly nor advanced. If you’re fine with limited control, it might do the job—but I don’t think the cost matches what this device can actually do.

I've had a couple of light bars over the last few years. This one is unique among them in that it has various app and home assistant integrations that I regrettably have yet to try. But as the light itself, it's quite functional and convenient. The USB power drives it off a side port on my monitor for convenience, and being able to change up the colors manually gives my writing time more ambiance.I'll try to warm up the app functions and integrations and come back with an update. I'll admit that without those features it's probably not a $100 value, but as I get it integrated I expect the value will increase.

This monitor light bar is a game changer for my workspace. It provides perfect lighting without glare on the screen, and the adjustable brightness and color temperature are great for reducing eye strain. The design is sleek and modern, and it clips easily on top of the monitor. I love that it saves space and makes my desk look cleaner.

I've been looking at monitor light bars to help with minor eye strain/fatigue because I work at a computer all day long.TL;DR: This YEELIGHT monitor light bar is very well-designed in terms of hardware, but extremely lacking in the software department. The software/app is *not* required, but the functionality is slightly limited without it. YMMV pretty much sums up this entire device. If it does what you need to without the app, it's an amazing product. If not, well, good luck.Hardware Review (solid 5 stars):It's... very nice. The coatings and materials they used are top notch. The weighted rubber mount is buttery soft and smooth, very premium feeling. USB Type C port on the back; I wish it was angled differently because you can see it sticking up above the device, but I used a horizontal 90 degree USB type C adapter and that helped a bit.The light bar itself is made of aluminum and attaches magnetically to the weighted rubber mount. It's very premium-feeling.The puck remote is neat and comes paired out of the box with the light. Batteries are not included and it uses 2x AAA. It rotates like a volume knob and has a button if you press down. Clicking the button quickly toggles the front light, holding it down toggles the back light. Double clicking the button changes modes for the back light. To adjust color temp of the front light, you must hold the button down and rotate at the same time which is easier than it sounds. Rotating counter-clockwise makes it warmer, clockwise makes it cooler. Very intuitive overall. I appreciate the inclusion of this remote so that the light can be operated without connecting it to your phone/network/etc.Two days in and my eyes are definitely less tired than they normally are. Mission accomplished! However...Software (App) Review (2 stars at best):There are no less than *THREE* different apps you can supposedly add the light bar to, but I was only able to get one to work. In the manual, it says to get the YEELIGHT app (didn't work), but there are QR codes for the Xiaomi Home and YEELIGHT Classic. I tried YEELIGHT Classic first, as I didn't want or need another smart home hub app, but I couldn't pair the device. The Xiaomi Home app actually worked after a reset of the device (it's not pair-able out of the box). Doing a reset involves unplugging and replugging the device several times via the USB Type C cable until the front light starts pulsing. It was still annoying to set up, having to specify your Wifi network, then connect to the device's wifi network, switching from the Settings app to the Xiaomi Home app back and forth throughout the process.Once it's paired, you can control and configure the light via the app. You can set things like color temp/brightness for the front light and the colors/effects/brightness for the back light. There is a slight delay but everything works as expected. Configuring the 4 built-in modes in the app is the only way to change the lighting available by double-clicking the puck remote's button. I have no idea if these are saved on-device or on Xiaomi/YEELIGHT's server's. At least in Xiaomi Home, you can configure schedules to automatically turn the light on/off. If you were able to pair with a different app, YMMV. Also, if you have Google Home or Alexa, you can control the light to some degree via linking the app. I have not tried this, but I imagine it's the same process as any other smart light bulb that integrates with Google Home/Alexa (such as Feit/SmartLife/Tuya/etc). Not much else to the light in the app. It has some different effects but, in my opinion, most are just distracting. Setting the back light to static lights up the wall gently which helps with eye strain.FYI- You can disable most (Location, Bluetooth, Local Network, and Home Data) of the app's permissions (at least on iOS) and everything works fine. It asks for Home Data permission, but does not integrate with Apple Home natively. You might be able to use something like HomeBridge to do that, but I don't think you'd need the Home Data permission for that anyway. YMMV.Also, I could not figure out how, if at all, to connect to Razer's Chroma RGB system which is advertised on the box. I'm not sure if this functionality is available in specific apps, but there was no mention in the Xiaomi Home app of this integration. Given that the device does not plug into your computer directly, I can only assume it might operate via wifi or bluetooth, but again... YMMV.
