If you are looking for a heavy duty holster for carrying multitools, you might want to give this one a closer look. The body of the holster streches to accomodate larger and wider multitools, has a heavy duty look and feel and the cover has a metal snap closure. It also uses a plastic belt clip that is very thick, and you can take the holster on and off your belt although it does take some getting used to. Also, this holster may be used for knives and small flashlights as well. All in all a very well made holster.

Absolutely brilliant pouch for my expensive multi tool that I use all the time. This is my 2nd one as after 2yrs of daily use it got a bit worn but still useable.Belt clip is so good it's a bugger to get off when you have finished work. But it's never come off on its own. Very sturdy and as it rotates you can move it so when you sit down it doesn't get in the way. Best belt buddy , so this time I got 2 as a spare or I find something else to go on my belt. Even the snap closer is good even on my 2yr old one. So very well made and worth the money.

Das Holster macht einen guten, soliden Eindruck. Mein Leatherman Surge passt perfekt hinein.

I first bought this product out of necessity. The original holster for my Gerber multitool had worn down to the point where the tool could no longer stay inside it. Enter the Nite Ize Tool Holster. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much, but it does a very good job of keeping it on your belt. The button stays snapped even when you're crawling around on the ground, say, under a car. The holster also allows you to choose whichever orientation you'd like the tool to be situated on your belt, meaning that on the fly, you can spin the entire holster on your belt 360 degrees. There is a bit of a learning curve regarding taking the holster off of your belt, but once you figure it out, it's smooth sailing. The only con I could see with it is that over time, if you don't get the tool in the slot just right, one of the two flaps that surrounds the tool can bend, making it difficult for you to place the tool back into the holster; however, this can be alleviated by simply using your thumb as a guide for replacing the tool into the holster.. All in all, I would definitely recommend this product, and if someone were to purchase a multitool in the future, I would recommend immediately spending the money on this holster. Worth every penny.

Likes:It fits different sizes of multi-tools, and holds them securely. Elastic keeps it snug.It seems well made, and durable, the elastic is very well protected by sturdy fabric. The belt loop/clip on Nite Ize products, in general, is much more durable over time than a fabric loop, this is no exception. It closes with a snap, and opens with a single 'click' instead of the tearing sound of VelcroYou can attach small items with a clip (pen, AAA flashlight) to the elastic loops on the side, without interfering with the main compartmentThe belt clip opens on the bottom so you can slip it on your belt without unbuckling it, yet holds securely, and won't come off in normal use. There is a thin/narrow secondary compartment in the back of the main compartment, perfect for holding the thin Leatherman driver bits, orextra saw/file blades if your tool features interchangeable ones (like my Surge or some Gerber models)Dislikes:The belt loop is on a swivel, which for my purposes is not necessary, and just adds extra bulk and causes the sheath to stick out a bit from my belt instead of staying tucked tightly against it.Neither likes or dislikes, but might be noteworthy to some:The elastic makes it fit snugly over anything from a standard Leatherman PST tool, up to my Leatherman Surge, which is quite a bit bigger. On one hand, I like its versatility, and that things don't rattle around in the sheath, but on the bigger multi tools like my Surge or Super Tool 300, it takes a little bit of effort to get it in the sheath, especially before it gets broken in. Removing either size tool is easy enough with one hand. The belt clip is plastic, and not fabric, making it more durable as far as wearing through over time. Nite Ize is one of the few companies that knows how to make a strong, durable clip, that does not dig into my side. However, on this sheath, there is a swivel feature, that 'clicks' into different positions, allowing for either vertical or horizontal carry of your tool. The swivel adds bulk, and causes the sheath to stick out a bit from my belt, instead of hugging tight to it. It isn't enough to be problematic, but still isn't my first preference. If I was supreme ruler of the world, I'd have Nite Ize make two versions, one vertical, one horizontal, and get rid of the swivel, so it would ride tighter on a belt.It self-adjusts for size by having elastic wrap around the side pieces of the sheath, to kind of 'squeeze' the tool, to keep it tight. Makes your tool secure, but makes for a little more effort to install/remove. However, this elastic makes a great way to attach a pen or small penlight without intruding into the main compartment. It is snap closed, instead of Velcro, no ripping sound when opening, and you don't have to clean the lint out of the 'hook' side, to keep it working. However, it does limit the size of the tool that fits, which is at least somewhat made up by the way the elastic holds it. It will hold a tool as small as the original PST securely enough, and stretches to fit a Surge or Super Tool 300, but that is about the practical upper and lower limits in sizes. There is a small opening at the bottom of the main compartment. I'm assuming it is to let dirt/debris through. Your tool won't fall through, but I wouldn't want to put anything really thin or small diameter in the pouch, as it could fall through.

I'll preface this by saying that I don't typically write reviews, but this little thing is so useful i had to make an exception.I got one of these holsters for use at my job as a facilities manager, primarily to carry around my leatherman (since the holster that came with it had to be threaded onto the belt, making it a hassle to remove if i needed to). Honestly, I just bought it for the style of belt clip, which is fantastic. it rotated to any position, fits on any belt up to 2", and won't fall off when you've gotta get into an awkward working position. That's small potatoes though; the real reason this thing is so great is that in addition to holding any sized multitool in the main pouch, the outside pouch holds a 6" crescent wrench very securely. there's also a little pouch behind the main one that's perfect for the bits for the leatherman's bitdriver in that little plastic thing they come in. But wait, there's more. I found a little nite-ize LED flashlight that clips perfectly on one of the elastic straps on the side, and on the other side i've clipped on a compact volt meter, completing this mini toolbox and aside from the occasional hammer, level, or power drill, I have every tool I need on me at all times. The only drawback is minor: as with any utility belt device, it's a bit of a bulge under your shirt, if you're not the type to tuck your shirt in. i've not found it to be a hindrance, as that's mainly cosmetic and when you're as ugly as I am it really doesn't matter. I'd highly recommend this holster to anyone who wants great versatility, quality craftsmanship, and hates carrying a bunch of stuff in their pockets, and just about everyone in the Facilities Management field.
