When you don't have 50 amp service available this item lets you use a 30 amp cord and the adpter is in a bay in our RV, so they cannot steal it.

Use it on my 32 foot 5th wheel. It had the correct type plugs for my trailer. My trailer is a 50 amp and came with a 50 amp cord which is big and heavy to get in and out everytime I hook up. I bot a lighter 30 amp cord and this adapter was the correct set up to go from the trailer to the new cord. Be sure to check the exact plug design on your trailer and cord. There are several types out there.

I have a new trailer which is 50 amps. I do not have a washer and drier, and only one air conditioner. Which means 30 amps service is all I need. The chord is about 50 lb and clumsy to load and unload, but you still want it packed away just in case. The plug adapter is exactly the right one and my 30 amp chord works fine. If I had a complaint, it would be that it cost too much. But after your done mulling over that, you'll like the light chord it affords. I have looked for a cheaper ones, and found them. But they are exactly that, "cheaper". I am happy with this plug adapter. So will you.

I actually cut this apart and used it on the end of a 30 foot 30 Amp cord so i can use my 4000w generator with my Airstream using 50 Amp service.
