The cable to secure the cover is great, I think the cover will be okay. We've had a couple of cold storms recently where water has been able to gather on the top of my pool cover (overall I've had a hard time preventing that) but this is truly waterproof. The water is still sitting in a puddle on top until I can get out there to pump it off. Seems sturdier than some other covers I've had since the holes have metal grommets to protect from tearing.I also use water weights to keep the cover down because it gets pretty windy here in the winter and between that and the amount of rain I'm not always able to remove water from the cover right away so it needs to last through the strain of the water on top and the time it takes for me to drain it.So far so good. It's priced right in the mid-bracket for price. So hopefully it actually holds up!

I use pool covers over areas in the yard I want dry from rain we have 9 months of the year. Tarps are too loud with rain and wind and the more smooth/rubber- feeling pool covers get dry and brittle during the summer and also get holes real easy when cats jump on it (claws). But this cover feels real strong and sturdy. It’s great quality. It is not stretchy like the typical pool covers I referred to earlier. It’s has a texture like those tie-down straps but it’s not fabric like those straps are. And of course, it’s not absorbent either, and no holes like pool covers usually have. I’m excited to see how it does this summer because I can tell it’ll last the winter, no problem. I really like the metal eyelets and the wire/ratchet. It’s plenty long and very strong. I suspect this cover will tolerate the summer sun as well. We’ll see soon enough. I will def buy more of these for this use…. And for my actual pool this year, as well :)

I really didnt know the difference between PE and PVC fabrics. PE is newer and lighter weight,it is naturally water proof as well as fireproff! Also naturally UV resistant! It is made of polyethelene. The other PVC is thicker, heavier and its manufacturing creates leftover dioxin, which is a veryharmful pollutant that stays in soil and accumulates in all living creatures and makes them sick. So, although that didnt make a difference in my ordering this pool cover, since I didnt knowwhat it was..- I am now glad I did!! :)heavier
