as per the instructions you drill a 1 1/16 hole thru entire piece, that is after you drill a 36mm hole on top to recess the top insert. then you say to screw the insert to the wood piece. Too bad the holes that are pre-drilled are 1 1/8 apart, making it impossible to fasten insert to wooden piece.
