We are getting too old to step up on the bumper then into the bed, but we didn’t want to take up space in the bed of our truck with a small step ladder. This step works great. Buy it, you won’t regret it

The product looks solid but have not been able to install as some parts were missing. Attempted to contact Amp Research - customer support, waited on hold for 40min then got disconnected, then sent them an eMail and have not received a response yet. May have to return product without having a chance to even install it.

Nothing beats USA materials and construction. Aluminum castings are very well made, strong and fit was exceptional. Easy to install and would advise using the spacers provided to maintain sufficient gap between the top of the step and the bumper when the step in retracted. May be a bit pricey but the quality is worth it when you compare to inferior Chinese competitors.

I expected an easy install, but not that easy... it probably didn't even take 15mins. On a 2000 F250 it did hit the "tab" on the bumper which the instructions say you might have to "modify" I have not yet done anything, as I'm not crazy about cutting part of my bumper... it actually worked without modification, tho it impedes it some, it still works, just pushes on the bumper some when you step on it... I might still modify it... I also wondered about using the included spacers just to move it down and away some...Would buy again... they aren't cheap, but then again, made in the USA... so no surprise... feels plenty sturdy though...

I had to bend the bumper tab up using a crescent wrench on my 2005 Ford Super Duty, otherwise it was a very easy installation. Product works perfectly, I would love a passenger side one as well (I’m not sure if that is available yet).

AMP Research sure got it right, fits perfect on my ‘07 Super Duty. Just a slight mod to my bumper which they put in the instructions. Very well built, solid as a rock. If your not sure to buy it, just do it. You won’t regret it!

Works great looks great. One of the mounting holes was too small for the factory nut or a socket to fit. Had to ground down the built in washer on the nut and grab a cheap socket to grind the wall thinner so I could get it on.

Years ago I bought the Bestop version of this product and it broke (when I slid sideways pulling out of a parking spot and the step's slight protrusion tapped the car next to me). Saw AMP was having their yearly rebate program and bought one of these. Not a bad price after rebate for the value you get. This is a quality product and made in USA unlike the Bestop step (If you do some research you'll see Bestop copied AMP's design). Install is pretty simple granted my truck is rusty-metal-free. Bestop's version had an aluminum step with a gritty surface and AMP uses a heavy-duty molded plastic step. I think the plastic will hold up better in salty winter driving for most northerners and it is a substantial molded part.

Ordered the Bedstep for an F-150 and accidentally ordered the wrong part. The Bedstep I received was for an F-250. So I called and JD Auto & Truck's customer service and they were understanding and very courteous. When I didn't receive the RMA, (it was sent to my Amazon account and not my email address) and had to call them back, customer service was again terrific. Their returns department was nearby, so they let me take the wrong part in and trade it for the correct part, saving me shipping costs and time! Installation of the Bedstep is more difficult for the F-150 Bedstep than it appeared to be for the F-250 version. There are more parts and they didn't easily fit together. But once my husband and I got it installed, it worked great! I'm very happy with the Bedstep. It tucks neatly out of the way and there are no additional pieces to haul around (like the ladders or removable steps that fit over tires). Even after the rebate, the Bedstep was much more expensive than the alternatives, but worth it. JD Auto & Truck is a great company to work with and I'd definitely recommend buying from them.

Regardless of what the drop down menu says, the AMP Research 75303-01A Bedstep Bumper Step does fit a 2015 Ford F-250. I went to the AMP products page to make sure before I ordered, and it is now installed with no problems. I'm not one to easily part with this kind of money, but after a lot of thought, research, and considering the alternatives I'm glad I did. This is perfect especially if you tow a trailer because you can rarley get the tailgate down while hooked up. It is a spring load type retraction system, so just let it go when you put it in the store position or you'll pinch a finger or two. I kinda wish it came down just a bit lower. I have a factory F-250 FX4 for off roading so it sits kinda high and I'm pushing 60, but no sweat the step works great!!!! Just to be sure it won't come down while off road I'll bungie it up. About the install, pretty easy for me since I have ALL THE TOOLS, or so I thought, and a do it yourselfer all my life. Add to their tool list a 3 inch extension when it comes to re-mounting the bumper nuts, and if you don't have a 21mm socket, a 13/16 works just fine. Just use a regular 6 point socket, I have a 21mm impact socket, but the socket was too thick. Instructions or mostly just pictures of steps 1-2-3-4-5-6, but I never liked stereo instructions, and it took me almost 20 minutes taking my time to get it done. But again, I got MOST OF THE TOOLS. Sears here I come for a new socket set.

very well made and the fit is spot on. The step ( I thought) was overpriced, until I received it and once I saw it, I appreciated the workmanship and quality. Another cause for the slightly higher price is that it is made in USA, California in fact. The step folds down and back up easily and stays up on the road. The step allows for you to step on it from the side as well as from behind the tailgate and I do not feel uncomfortable on it. Coming down is also easy as the step is large enough to find with you foot. Good product.

I am a short female and didn't have a chance at reaching the bed of my new F-250. This step is fantastic. Easy to use, easy to step up onto bumper or tailgate. Directions were very clear. A friend put the step together and when I brought the truck over, it was 2 bolts on.......less than 15 minutes. Loved it so much I got the Bedstep 2 and love it also!! Ford's tailgate with built in step was a $3000 option and this was $200....plus you can use this when a trailer is hooked up or when the tailgate is off. Very solid and tucks up so close you don't have to worry about it catching on anything. I would highly recommend to anyone!!
