Looks great, drilling required. Powered coat was delivered chipped. I wouldn’t buy again. I had to replace 6 mounting bolts/nuts/washers. If I was to purchase again, it would be the painted high gloss finishe. The welding and powered coat was super low quality. Rusting after a light rain

I took away one star because I agree that drilling through the body is less than ideal. If you do this carefully lay out your holes because the available space top to bottom is minimal.I guess the manufacturer intended for the square under the head of the carriage bolt to wedge itself into the body, but it seemed to me more likely to instead just cause the thin metal to split and blow out. I'd consider taking the carriage bolts to a machine shop and ask them to turn the squares round. The bolts still won't spin once the head contacts the body. I've got lathes in my shop so this was what I did.Also the carriage bolts seem absurdly long, you can cut at least 1/2" off them.The bars came extremely well packaged in an impressive box and weld quality was very good. We opted to build custom mounts to the frame but it was 1.5 days of fab to get them all correct. We just used 2 bolts per side to hang them in place while fitting custom brackets.

2nd Gen Ram, Cab LengthThese bars look nice and they function properly. The steps are in the right spot to help you climb in the truck. While they look heavy duty, they're closer to standard duty. A few shortfalls;The tube ends are open, no welded caps. That means debris, road salt, water etc will get inside and rust.The mounting brackets were a bit wonky on the ones I got.Drilling the pinch weld to mount is not ideal, but I get it, the frame is pretty far away from the cab exterior. Still would like to see a better system for mounting. Perhaps to the body bushing mounts.The hardware could be improved. Carriage bolts were included, but you have the square peg - round hole issue. I may switch to a large flat head allen from Fastenal.That said, installation was straight forward, drill 6 holes in pinch weld on each side and bolt them on. I had to cut a couple small bolts that we're sticking down from the cab floor because they interfered with the brackets. Also, the charcoal canister was in the way on the passenger side, so the last two holes had to be drilled from the outside. Marking those holes was difficult. Removing the canister would have been more difficult due to age if truck and some rusted fasteners.Again, they look good and function. I'm 190#s and it flexes very little even when I bounce on it.

I previously bout this style for the looks, and it looks like it is made of heavy duty material. Witch I need for my work truck. When I received the product I was disappointed. It's not that sturdy and I'm a 215 pound dude and it dented to my wight it was not at all built for work and not that sturdy because it doesn't mount to the main frame but if your light and just looking for style then they might work for you.
