Remove the used filter
Find the used filter, and remove it. If the system uses an intake cap instead of a filter, please take it down first before installing a new filter.
Rinse the filter
Please soak the filter for 5 minutes first or flush it for 10 seconds before installation.
Install the new filter
Put your finger in between the filter’s clasp. Put the nozzle end of the filter in the opening and press it downwards until there's a snap sound.

These filters caused my ice maker to stop making ice. I’m not sure what the problem is but I put the first one in. It worked fine for a week. Then my unit started having issues. I replace it with another filter and my unit stop making ice altogether. I removed the filter.. started working again. These are getting returned.

These are filters for my Opal 2.0 countertop icemaker. They are what they say they are and fit the required need. Good You-Tube video on how to install as the machine instructions are Mediocre. Good water flow and taste.

We have been using these since we purchased the GE Opel ice maker. And have descaled and cleaned the ice maker every three months. This week, three weeks shy of the three month interval, the ice maker stopped making ice. After going through all of the GE troubleshooting steps, and the last step was to call GE support, I remover the filter, did a power cycle, turned it back on and it started making ice again. So heads up.

(UPDATE). I’m not too sure if it may have been a bad batch, but the manufacturer reached out to me to inquire about the issue, and sent a new 3 pack of filters. Upon using the first filter, there has been a significant improvement in the quality of the filter and I haven’t had the issues I did with the first set. I CAN say this is a different experience and have changed my rating to reflect that. If you have issues with yours, reach out for assistance. They’re more than willing to work with you.I always use distilled water in my device as our water is too chlorinated. After I cleaned my ice maker before adding the new filter, I soaked it for 10 minutes to ensure the media inside was saturated as instructed. I installed the filter and ran the clean mode once as instructed to push water through the filter and prime it. Two weeks later, the filter begins to clog up. Mind you, we’re using DISTILLED water, so there’s no minerals building up in the media. I remove the filter; works perfectly. I install another filter, this one only lasts a week. Very poor quality as I could typically get 3 months from my brand name filters. Not worth the money. Save it and get the OEM version.
