RVGUARD Magnesium Anode Rod for RV Water Heater
The over-all lenght is 9-1/4" with 3/4" NPT fiting for most of RV water heater
Instead of spending 400-600 dollars on a new water heater every 6-9 years (excluding expensive installations), opt to replace it yourself for less than 30 dollars per year.
How does the Anode Rod protect your water heater?
Magnesium is a sacrificial metal needed to prevent rust in water heater tanks. Absorb corrosive elements and prolong the service life of the water heater tank. And it's more active than aluminum so it will be "sacrificed" quicker. It will protect your water system better.
Step 1: Switch-off water heater system
Note: Be sure to flush the water heater before you replace the anode rod
Step 2: Remove used anode rod and drain the water
Use tool to loosen and remove the used anode rod
Step 3: Install new anode rod
Clean the thread side to avoid rust and install the new anode rod with applying PTFE tapes.

This fit the gas water heater on my tow camper perfect. I will monitor to see how long it last. Better to change annually than have to replace the entire heater.
