This is the third post of the exact type I've bought (the first was messed up by our landscaper hitting it with his front-end loader, the 2nd was recently taken out by a speeding driver who took our corner a bit too wide). I like that the box can be easily mounted with the mailbox support arm either parallel or perpendicular to the road. Heavy aluminum post, very quick and easy to assemble.

Nothing in the description describes that you can only mount the mail box sideways! Third party sales partner;expensive shipping NOT paid by seller for return. Quality appears to be good...but don't be fooled into thinking this one can be mounted arm-out to street without having to modify mail box or modify post. 3 stars for incomplete description.

Good solid post but I had two quality issues. First, I ordered a white post but received black. I had to re-package and return the post. When i received the replacement, I found it was missing two threaded inserts for assembling the cross member to the post. With great difficulty, I was able to attach a couple of nuts to replace the inserts and avoid needing to replace the 2nd post.

This post is really nice. Very heavy duty / durable and will not rust. Looks really nice too. We purchased a white mailbox to go with it and love the entire look this gives. Easy to assemble and install.

Just got this mailbox pole today, and I spent hours trying to figure out how the heck they designed this thing. I made sure to get a Salsbury mailbox with it so they were compatible too (Salsbury 4850BLK heavy duty rural mailbox). Turns out they designed the pole to sit sideways (parallel to the road), and the mailbox to be mounted perpendicular to the pole. It looks so stupid and awkward to have a sideways pole with the mailbox sitting perpendicular, The pole covers the side of the mailbox, including the numbers on one side. You have to pick which side. Why couldn't they design the pole to face parallel to the box and perpendicular to the road like a normal mailbox? The holes are not aligned to go this way, but it would have been such an easy option to include holes to mount it so that we would have the option to do that. Not aesthetically pleasing at all. Its a shame because the pole is really long and sturdy, it seems to be really good solid metal construction. Given it gets buried 3 feet into the ground, it wont be going anywhere anytime soon. Maybe I got the wrong mailbox to go with it, I figured if I got Salsbury products they would be compatible with each other.

Excellent Item, Got it on Sale for $112.00. Shipping was very fast, Excellent Packaging and All Hardware is include (to assembly post) was in clearly marked bags with instructions. Item is heavy duty Aluminum and looks awesome, much better than anything at the local HD or Lowe's. Took me about 30 minutes to assemble and install. Luckily my old wood post was only in the ground with some loose rocks. If you are thinking about buying this item, just do it you will be very pleased.

After going through the difficulty of hand digging a hole in very rocky ground, I was wary of putting in another cedar post and cover it with a plastic covering so I found this aluminum post instead. This is much, much nicer than a painted wood option and much cheaper than the $299 local option for an aluminum post. This is a very solid, high quality post that came quickly and well packed with no damage. A few things to note:- The post was slightly larger than my previous wood cedar so if you have a pre-existing hole, it may not fit. I had to move my hole back a few inches as well to meet code.- I had to dig deeper as well because the post was longer than my previous cedar post- Comes with everything needed (plus extra) to put it together and is very simple with a socket wrench and Phillips screwdriver- It is designed for a Salsbury mailbox and does not have mounting holes or hardware to fit a standard mailbox- I bought a universal mount for installation and while it fit the mailbox I bought from Home Depot, there are no holes that line up for easy installation with this post. I ended up having to custom build a wood mount to attach my mailbox to this post.- This post leveler was very handy during installationAll in all I'm very happy with this product but installation took me quite a while first because I had to hand dig a hole and 2nd because I had to figure out that the adapter didn't work and then to build one myself. If not for the mixed reviews on the Salsbury mailboxes, I would suggest getting one of those because I think installation would be 10x easier.

Beautiful mailbox post. WARNING: this is designed for multiple mailboxes so the screw holes are setup for mounting the post across the beam rather than along the beam. My husband had to build a bridge between the mailbox and the post holes. With that done though, it is beautiful.
