Had a Luthier build a wooden extension to hold the Seymour Duncan Hot P's on my double bass, I also have a J-Tone BIG piezo bridge pickup and mix the two through a ProSound High Impedance mixer, and it sounds incredible! Couldn't be happier.

Come qualsiasi altro pu va provato. Ho preso poi un bartolini 8s ceramico. Molto più bilanciato e gestibile....ma ripeto è una questione personale

Replaced the pickups on a Danelectro bass, wanted the same look, but better performance. Even tone, good bass and mid response, higher output than the original.

Great pickups. I used the SJB-2 set in a Jazz bass with similar results. Vintage tone with a little bump in output and mids. Perfect for rock but appropriate for any genre of music.

Producto de buena calidad en acabado y en sonido, el cual variará según el tipo de bajo y maderas de construcción, así como de la calibración del mismo.

Man, these sound good. I bought them to install in a $100 build your own P-Bass kit from. When it was finished, I plugged into the nearest amp, which was a mid-range keyboard amp, and the bass sounded great. Punchy and clear, with the ability to really growl if you dig in. Highly recommended.

This was an upgrade for a Squier and I love it. If you're looking for the old P tone maybe this is not the pickup for you, but if you're looking for a full sound, with lots of definition this is the one.

Wow, hear the roar. Very responsive pick ups. I put them into a squire p-bass that I got for near nothin and you can't believe the way it sounds.

I am a big fan of Seymour Duncan products, I have SD pickups on all my electric guitars. I bought this pickup to install on an imported Fender Squire P-Bass. Of course the Fender Squire imported bass has a non-standard size P-Bass style pickup. It did not require routing to install the Seymour Duncan but I did need to create new holes to mount the SD pickup in the right location.I installed a new 250K ohm volume pot at the same time I replaced the pickup. This bass is set up with heavy strings so it can tune to B - E - A - D (the bottom four notes of a 5-string bass), the deep tuning combined with this Seymour Duncan P-Bass pickup sounds fantastic. A friend gave me this bass, a little work and this pickup changed it into a very cool instrument.Good music to all!

Don't get me wrong. I'm a Seymour Duncan fan for real — I have five guitars, all of them using Seymour's finest pickups, from the sweet sounding Pearly Gates on my SG Custom to my wildest one Jackson JDR with a Dimebucker screaming loud and raging out. So, I was certain that this pickup would do fine in my bass guitar. My sound is thrash metal and I thought that a p'up with a tight low end would sound better on that. Something to give me more punch. And it does! This p'up sounds absolutely amazing!Clean sounds are way better now. It's response to my dynamics goes really well both on plucking and slapping, than it does on flicking. Even with a pick.A true sounding device for my awesome japanese '87 Yahama Attitude bass. But, I kinda miss its old sound with excessive treble and too much bright. Guess that is a matter of opinion.Anyway, my description of this pick is pretty close to what I feel about it. I don't regret buying it. My problem here is getting used to it.I suggest you to go with Seymour's description on their website. By far, the best reference to any thing they do, since there's no sample audios on internet of this p'up that I'd call fair. The sound way better live. Trust me.

These are amazing. I installed them on a Squier I have modded out a lot as I wanted the most versatile pickup that also had a lot of power (my other live Bass has two humbuckers so it had a lot to contend with). I emailed Seymour Duncan who recommended these. Basically take your stock pickup, double the range you can get from your tone control and add another quarter output on the volume. That's these, they sound incredible live and are super silent for recording.

In the world of audio equipment, buying online can be very tough. People will use all sorts of words to describe "sound" and "tone" and, in the end, you don't really know what any of it means without examples.Well, I'm going to start with a description, and then let you know that I recorded EXAMPLES so you can get an idea of how this pickup sounds.First of all, the description - This pickup has a distinctive voicing. If you have good gear or use headphones, you can tell that it is a pretty big departure from the tone of many stock pickups, especially the pickups included on most Fender precision basses. Compared to "vintage-style" pickups (which are most stock pickups, by the way), the sound is louder at the same settings, but also NARROWER. The deepest lows are rolled off (though people will swear UP and DOWN that this pickup has more lows, but they're hearing LOW-MIDS, not those deep, boomy lows). The treble is also noticably rolled off. If we imagine the stock tone as a flat line, you can think of this as being a line that is raised in the middle, and bent downward at either end. This tone works quite well in many situations - it sounds great with overdrive, and those low-mids are very punchy and filling. By itself, this pickup would probably work well in a power-trio situation, and if you simply want to punch through some loud guitars, this will get the job done.On the other hand, if you want versatility and the ability to dial in a wider variety of tones from a single-pickup precision bass style instrument, you will probably want to look elsewhere. In my bass, rolling off the tone control had very little effect on the sound of this pickup - it went from dark to slightly darker. "Classic" p-bass tones are not as easy to achieve. While some people think this pickup sounds "vintage", I personally think that stems from the fact that it almost makes roundwound strings sound like flatwounds, due to the rolled-off treble and increased thump - not to mention differences in recording and amplification technology.Anyway, if you search on talkbass.com, you'll find my sound clips. I don't think Amazon will let me put links in a review, so I'll just tell you to search for "SPB-2" or posts by the user "hags2k" in the bass guitar forums. The title of the post is "Quick Comparison - 2012 "custom shop" stock MIA Standard P Pickup and SPB-2 Pickup". I did a quick recording using this pickup and the stock fender pickup so you can hear them "side by side", so to speak. Hearing is believing.I give it four stars because it does what it promises. It just wasn't my cup of tea and I've put the stock pickup back in my Fender Am. Std. Precision bass for now.
