The SmallRig A7 IV Cage with Top Handle and HDMI Cable Clamp is a fantastic addition to my camera setup. It fits the Sony Alpha 7R V, Alpha 7 IV (my camera), and Alpha 7S III perfectly, providing excellent protection and stability. The top handle is ergonomic and makes handling the camera much easier, especially during long shoots - something about flipping the camera around with a top handle is pretty great. The HDMI cable clamp is a great feature, keeping cables secure and preventing accidental disconnections. Make sure to look up videos on the clamp if you don't know how to set it up properly.The build quality is top-notch, with robust materials and a well-thought-out design that doesn’t interfere with camera functions or access. It can be a little tight around the battery area, but it's not that bad. Assembly was straightforward, and the cage adds valuable mounting options for accessories. This is great minimalistic cage if your looking to make your A7 a more usable camera for video. It provides basic protection to the camera while offering plenty of mounting points for various accessories and includes a comfortable top handle. My one gripe with this cage/top handle combo is the same one I have for most cages. where do you mount your monitor? You can obviously mount it to the top of the top handle, but then your whole rig is quite tall and top heavy... or you remove the handle entirely and mount the monitor directly to the top of the cage… but then it is super awkward to hold the kitted out camera by the regular side grip🤬. The solution is quite simple and I’m happy to say, it works quite well with this cage and handle combo. You simply mount the top handle side of the camera. The cage provides a 3/8in mounting point on the right side of the camera long with locater pin wholes that the top handle screws into perfectly! This solution does make it a bit difficult to access the shutter button, but you can just reassign the record start/stop function to one of the custom buttons that is easier to reach. Overall, I would definitely recommend this cage if you are in the market to beef up your sony camera kit!

I mean I have bought a ton of cages for this camera from folks like 8Sin, Kondor Blue, Nitze and even some previous SmallRig ones. All were fairly good but all lacked something I needed in one way or another. This is the first cage I've come across that has everything I need plus one main feature in particular which is weight. While this is an all metal cage, and super sturdy (I stood on the side of the cage, without a camera in it of course, and it didn't bend one bit) this is one of the lightest cages I have come across for this camera. Due to my back issues I try and make my camera rigs as light as possible. This one fits that need perfectly.Everything here is premium as you would expect from a SmallRig cage. They include one of their high end top handles (I should know as I have 6 SmallRig top handles) that is secured with locating pins so there is no twisting of the handle what so ever. There are a bunch of little nice to have's like that on the cage. Like the cold shoe on the top handle has a little locking pin than you can press to easily add cold shoe bits super easy and quickly. There is also a locking pin on the base of the cage which prevents the camera from wiggling at all in the cage.This is just a super thought out cage that works perfectly and looks fantastic at the same time. I would have zero hesitation recommending this camera to anyone and everyone.

I own a couple of Small Rig products, and all of them have been very reliable. It is on the pricey side, but well worth it. Design is great, and it fits perfectly. No complaints.
