Fit is precise while not adding much bulk. Its surprisingly lightweight as well. Build quality is excellent. I have zero complaints, excellent cage!

Lightweight protection that takes a great camera to an amazing camera. All of the cut outs are perfect and the controls easy to get to. Yes you will not be able to use the pop up flash with the cage on but I wasn't going to use that anyways. I would buy this again I just wish they would off the option for colors or an anodized finish.

This Smallrig cage for the Nikon Z50ii is a good fit. It is well made with no flaws in the finish. It adds versatility to the camera, and is particularly well suited for taking videos. I do have a few small concerns, but I am uncertain that they warrant dropping the rating to 4 stars. First, there is no Arca plate on the side which means that a vertical presentation on a tripod becomes problematic. I suspect the reason for this was that it would have limited the attachment points on one side of the cage. I suppose it's just a trade-off, but I think I would have liked an additional Arca plate connection. (That said, a Arca-Swiss plate could be attached to the side.) Second, I am uncertain how secure the attachment of the included tool is to the cage. For the moment, the connection seems firm, but I am skeptical that it will remain so over time. Also, a conventional screwdriver is a much better choice for securing the cage to the camera. Lastly, I attached a Smallrig Lightweight Top Handle to the cage, and that connection wasn't particularly firm. It would loosen and rattle, and I had to tighten it often. That said, the Smallrig cage expands the way the camera can be used, and offers a bit of protection to the camera's body when attached.Edit - First, I have attached an Arca-Swiss plate to the side. In many respects, this may be more advantageous than if one were an integral part of the cage. Regardless, it now works very well for vertical presentations. Second, I have discovered QD port in the base of the cage which allows for the quick attachment and removal of a sling.

This cage fits the Nikon Z50II like a glove. It forms around the curves of the body perfectly, to keep it from looking so bulky. It gives you a ton of extra mounting points for those that may want to add extra accessories for vlogging. The cage also adds some good bump protection and makes the body of the camera a tad bit bigger for those with larger hands. One of the best cages that you can get for the Z50II.

SmallRig has developed a niche as a provider of quality accessories for photographers and videographers. The SmallRig cage is another quality product from SmallRig.Designed specifically for the Nikon Z50II, the cage fits securely on the camera and provides unobstructed access to all of the camera buttons, the battery and memory card door, and rear LCD screen.SmallRig does point out in the product description that the top of the cage does obstruct the camera’s built-in flash (the flash does not pop up), which is not a huge deal as the hot shoe is still available. The cage, which is made of aluminum alloy, has built-in silicone padding (to protect the camera from scratches) and it secures to the camera using a three-point locking system and a quick release plate for Arca style accessories. An on-board magnetized wrench is included for tightening the cage to the camera. In addition to the cage, SmallRig also includes in the package a scratch-resistant tempered glass screen protector. As the Nikon Z50II does not have in-body stabilization (IBIS), a cage is an important accessory to help with stability for when producing video. Additionally, a camera cage provides protection and can help improve the ergonomics of the camera body, so it's an invaluable accessory.Highly recommended!

Quality material and workmanship. Lightweight and fits the Nikon Z50 ii perfectly. The problem is, you cannot use the onboard camera flash while attached to this cage. So now, the options are to either use an external flash or modify the cage by cutting a section of the top rail off to give the flash enough room to pop up. I don't understand why Small-Rig didn't take the camera's pop-up flash into consideration when designing this. Stupid.EDIT: Revising this review because I dropped my camera and the cage saved it from any damage except for a broken lens cap. Very durable product that saved my new Nikon camera. I owe you Smallrig!
