I tune my kiddo's racing skis every single day and this file guide is absolutely 100% my preferred guide! I love the heft of this guide, and I will never go back to the cheaper aluminum guides.

I own this file guide. I like nice tools and this definitely is a nice tool; however there is one significant flaw in the design. The bold on the backside of the file guide spins when you are tightening the thumb screw so if you want to hold a file or diamond stone with anything more than very mild finger tightening you need to use a hex key to hold the small bolt from spinning. The bolt has a lock washer but it doesn’t hold it from spinning. The bolt should have a squared hole and a square end to stop it from spinning like the regular Aluminum World Cup file guide. It’s a shame because other than that, this is a really nice tool. I just hate reaching for a hex key every time I want to change my diamond stone or file in the file guide. For the price, this file guide should be perfect and sadly it isnt. I find myself reaching for the aluminum World Cup File guide more often which can be had for a fraction of the price.
