These brackets really do look nice on my deck as additional supports for the stair railing posts. The glossy black color contrasts very nicely with the redwood stain much better than a galvanized bracket would. They would also be good inside the home as shelf supports or anywhere you want a nice look. I've really come to like the way black items around the home make for a nice accent in whatever room I've used them in, they just fit in with every color. For whatever reason these brackets are for a 4"x4" post if you're using it for that but in my case they cornered off each other with the overlap matching up nicely. They're totally solid too, it's why I used them as additional supports.'

These are exactly what I needed for my shade structure. I'm using 4x4 wood boards and attaching with the brackets. I was concerned ordering these online but they are definitely sturdy enough for the project.

I needed these L brackets to reinforce the frame of our double garage doors swinging on 8 big hinges on each side. There is a lot of weight and stress on the frame and these L brackets will keep the 4 x 4 posts anchored to the main frame of the barn.After installing them with 3" DECK SCREWS I THINK THEY WILL DO THE JOB. We are giving these L brackets FIVE STARS. There is no flex or movement in the frame at all.
