I ordered this to repair a chair seat with grooves in which this is intended to fit in order to secure the rattan weave of the seat surface. I expected the material to be cylindrical like rope, but it is a half cylinder. It is also very fibrous so small pieces splinter off. I was not able to use it for my project.

Unfortunately it is not quite the right size and isn’t totally round for my fixing project. Waiting for the other size I ordered to see if I make this work or send it back. Thanks

Kurzfassung: Keine KaufempfehlungKann man nur sehr eingeschränkt zum Basteln verwenden.Rattan ist rund und Rattan hat eine glänzende Oberfläche. Die Oberfläche von dem gelieferten Holz hingegen ist weder glänzend noch eine natürliche Oberfläche. Vielmehr wurde diese offensichtlich gefräst.Rund ist das Holz auch nicht. Es ist in der Mitte halbiert worden. Wenn man also einen Rattankorb oder gar einen Sessel damit ausbessern will, dann wird man sehen, dass dies kein Rattan ist und, dass dies nur die Hälfte ist.Daher: Für unsere Zwecke absolut ungeeignet.Da die Hälfte fehlt, sind Ausbesserungsarbeiten im Allgemeinen wohl nicht möglich. Es ist kein Kreis, sondern nur ein Halbkreis.Die Oberfläche ist recht rau. Es besteht die Möglichkeit, dass man sich Splitter zieht. Die Oberfläche, bzw. der gesamte Halbkreis wurde wahrscheinlich aus einem Brett heraus gefräst (viele Teile wie dieses) und dann mittels Hitze und Dampf biegsam gemacht und gebogen.Alles in allem sind wir enttäuscht und empfehlen dieses Produkt nicht zu kaufen, außer, man möchte unbedingt die Hälfte.
