This is a good quality vent. It easily fastened to the standard 4" pipe from the existing installation, with the groove cut for the pipe "spine". The vendor not including screws makes sense, since the product will be used in so many different ways. I needed 2" screws for my application. As others have stated, the outer hood fits a bit loosely, but a small screw driven through the top of the cover into the bottom "frame" solves that. Just back the screw out when you want to delint the cage. The louvers are a second defense against critters. All in all a smart product I can easily recommend.

Must say I'm impressed with the way it was redesigned. It's the same unit as when we built our home in 2009. Only reason we had to replace it was neighbors tree branch knocked it out. Otherwise I'm sure it would have lasted even longer than we'd expected. Thank You for quality.

Plastic that the hood is made of is thicker and of better quality than almost all other hoods available at local stores. Really like the 3 piece design that allows you to quickly remove not just the cage but the louvred to have full access to the duct for complete removal of lint.Time will tell if the clip-on design of the cage and the lovers is durable and reliable, and not prone to falling off.

I recently installed this to replace my existing dryer vent cover. It was easy to install, and I can easily remove the cover to clean without having to unscrew anything. The plastic quality is good and much stronger than some of the similarly priced options I saw at Home Depot.

Was so much easier to install than I thought it would be. Had to caulk inside as you can’t caulk outside or you won’t be able to pull them apart to clean. Love the 3 piece design, super simple to clean and put back together. To prevent accidentally blowing off or getting bumped off, I put a small brass screw in top of the cage as it is not clipped on super tight. Flaps still

This was easy to install. We removed the previous vent that was fastened to the end of the dryer vent tube. The blades on that one weren't moving as easily as they should and it tended to get lint caught. This one has two pieces - the piece that screws into the wall to hold it all in place but then a removable louver and cage section to make clean out much easier.

Based on other reviews I bought this vent. It might work best in a situation where you can service it if it's mounted at ground level.I installed this vent (with needed modification, my exhaust pipe didn't fit into the sleeve of the vent. The vent plastic had to be cut in order to fit.) Lint builds up in the bird guard and it constantly needs to be removed. This wouldn't be a problem if the vent were ground level or thereabouts. My vent is mounted 12 feet in the air. I have to get out my ladder every time the vent needs to be cleared. I've removed the bird guard now and just rely on the louvers to open and close when the drier comes on. This keeps birds, rodents and insects out.Also consider it's plastic. I live in the South, this may have a short life span due to heat and the sun.Update 7-3-23- The vent is still installed on my dryer exhaust pipe and it's still working. Every month or so I have to take a broom and clean the lint that has accumulated in the louvers so I don't have to use my ladder to clean it out. Unfortunately I haven't found anything that works better .
