I now can see at night what time it is! But the directions on setting the alarm are unclear and confusing. I gave up after trying several times… but can set my phone alarm if I need to. Can someone help?

After 30 years my clock radio died and I needed a new one. I tried a couple with little success until I got this one. I read some of the reviews before I purchased it and didn't have any of the problems others did. I did find it useful, however, to go online and read and better understand the directions. I like the fact that it wakes me with a soft beep or I can have a loud radio, depending on my mood. It has large green time numbers and that's a good think since I'm blind without my glasses.

Alarm clocks are awful these days. But this one is exactly how they need to be built. Is it perfect no? But under the circumstances of options out there it’s perfect for me. Large screen but not gigantic (I mean who wants a ginormous alarm clock staring them in the face all night!? This is easy to set (just read the directions), has the dimmer option, radio station option which I love waking up to country. It doesn’t rely on my phone. It’s not tiny, I can see it over my pillows. Sleek. Only thing that’s so dumb about it is how the radio increases in volume as it goes off. However it worked one am so I guess I like it now!

This alarm clock was purchased to replace iHome that had an LCD panel that lasted less than 2 years. It was annoying too bright. Therefore, I shopped around a lot and found this one to meet all of my needs: 2 alarms, dimmable LCD, FM radio, slow-rise alarm (gentle awake), and battery backup. On the surface, it did everything precisely as advertised. Very happy at the onset.However, my wife turned off my alarm clock in our bedroom and I later found that I was missing around an hour when I took a shower. This happened over 4 times in a single week. Therefore, I asked my wife to not touch the clock at all. This "fixed" the issue as I pressed the correct button. However, a few days later I too hit the wrong button.This is a poor-quality design as even my 30-year-old Sony Dream Machine alarm clock never would have done this as to change the time you must hold the "clock/time" button while also pressing other buttons to change time. As such, hitting a button adjacent to "off" to turn off alarm -- which changes time -- is far too annoying, and worse of all makes you start your day off late and therefore on the wrong foot. Therefore, I had no other choice but to return this alarm due to poor design of its usage. Phillips got everything else right, but this just wouldn't work for me.

Esperaba un poco mas de la marca la verdad en cuanto a sonido. El sonido del radio es malísimo, pero lo rescatable pues es la función de despertador y hora.Si no te interesa escuchar musica mientras haces alguna actividad en tu cuarto o en algún otro lado y solo lo quieres como reloj esta bien, pero si pretendes tener la radio prendida, suena a radio de chicles.El material es frágil y pareciera que se romperá, pero si esta bonito el radio.

I found it hard to start the clock and tune and set alarm . I never got to use it .Recently bought a small radio alarm while waiting for this but it was battery run so it was really for interim. Took me 10 mins to understand the instructions and use it .But this radio alarm was complicated . I wish there was someone to teach me and I wld have kept it .Eventually still using my battery run radio alarm 🙁

Junk. Phillips used to make really good alarm clocks. I had a great sounding great working one with a cd player years ago. When that one gave up the ghost I bought a Phillips radio alarm clock with an ipod dock. They both worked and sounded great. When the second finally quit on me after over 10 years I searched for a replacement. Unfortunately the world of clock radios had changed and quality is now nonexistent. This is the cheapest most miserable piece of junk imaginable. Difficult to program, cheap, really cheap plastic, and the back up battery function doesn't do anything at all. Phillips used to be synonymous with quality. Sadly they no longer are.

I'm going to return this clock radio and buy a different model. It's a pretty good clock radio with one major flaw. There is no way to adjust the volume of the radio alarm, and it's too loud for me. I hoped that if I set the radio volume to 1 while playing the radio the radio alarm would also play at volume 1. It doesn't. The alarm volume ignores the volume that I set while playing the radio.A lesser problem is that the radio alarm plays for only 29 minutes, not the full hour that I would prefer.

The numbers are easy to read and the time is easy to set. Took a few tries to set the alarm, but have it down now. Price was right.
