I use this, with a Railblaza mounting point, to mount a GoPro onto my sit-on-top kayak. It raises the camera high enough to see over the raised bow, and it's very easy to detach with wet and cold hands, while still being secure enough that there's no way it'll come off accidentally. I use it as a handle then on the GoPro when I want to film things manually when I'm not paddling.
