I had a sticky key that ended up becoming inoperable so I disassembled the laptop and removed the keyboard. The last one was not back lit and I really wanted to upgrade to a back lit keyboard since I already had the computer disassembled. I was super excited to actually find the exact one I needed on this program AND it was back lit. It was like Christmas!! I was stoked and waited every day for the package to show up, just like a kid eagerly awaiting Santa Claus coming or the easter bunny bringing him candy. Well, I was so excited I opened the package, installed it, and reassembled the computer less than 20 minutes after the package landed.Only after everything was put back together did I realize that I never had to plug in the extra ribbon that other backlit keyboard I have seen had, fear struck me as I had this thought the same time I pressed the power button. The fear was confirmed mere seconds later when the keyboard never lit up. To say I was crestfallen would be an understatement. This being a work computer, the update would have made the majority of my life easier and possibly more productive but since I just got a normal replacement this is just conjecture. I guess I will never know :(
