Lamp broke upon opening. Candles are mediocre quality at best. Wouldn't trust to use lamp even if it had held together due to awful construction, ZERO SAFETY FEATURES, and paper thin tin walls. An empty soup can provides better purpose and safety for a candle than this garbage. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS FIRE HAZARD.

get the candles for it and it will serve you well. steer away from the bees wax ones got for they longer hour ones. they burn different, slower and more efficient, less wax loss to block the spring.

The lantern was well packaged, arrived quickly and included a storage sack and three extra candles. I have used these before, but I wanted one to include in my car emergency kit, hence I chose the red color.
