Must have tool for intake sprocket counter hold. Used on a 2015 Porsche Cayenne Hybrid, a 2013 Q5, and a 2014 Q7 3.0T timing chain repair. 24mm wrench is used with a long triple square for the bolt.

if you have a 2009 Jetta 2.5L, this tool is not for you. This tool is basically Chinese garbage with a fancy package and a good placement on amazon search results. The so called 'updated design' is updated to not fit. I almost damaged my engine and my hands. To be fair the only piece in the set that worked was the T40070 bars.

The pin spanner broke on the first use. Two of the pins that sheared off went into my engine. I have 20 years experience working on cars and this has never happened with any ring spanner. You can see the area where the tool gave out on the first picture. This tool is not of decent quality and should not be used. What was a top timing chain tensioner job turned into dropping the transmission and removing the lower chain cover on my 3.0TFSI, just to remove the 2 metal pins. I would not recommend this junk. If the price seems to good, there is a good reason, it is made of cheap materials. Stick to quality tools. Thank you for adding 20 hours plus and hundreds of dollars in parts needed to fix this issue….

Came in right in time for the job and was the perfect fit for my 4.2l v8 fsi motor. I’d recommend this tool for your diy jobs if you own a 4.2 Audi. It’s worth the purchase.

I used this tool to replacing the timing chains on a 2010 VW Jetta 2.5L. Initially I was pleased with the build quality but after using it, modifications are necessary. The M14 triple square isnt long enough to fit through the cam cups, and wont allow the removal of the unit. I had to purchase a separate M14 triple square though NAPA, who had it in stock same day. The bolts used to lock the cams together for timing couldnt take the 18nm torque and broke. I replaced the bolts with known good hardware. Lastly the locking pins for the chain tensioner arent long enough, so they dont work either. I ended up using a 4mm allen wrench. Know going in that this kit will help you about 80% of the way
