This is a side winder that is really unusable. First the bottom plate had the ground wire broken off. It was soldered but the separated wire section broke at the top of the solder. Then a mudbucker should Ohm out around 28 to 35. This Ohm at 10.2. This is really quiet in sound. I tried to adjust the pickup to string hight distance3 and was unable to and this made me wonder why I decided to not return it due to price and instead took it apart to see why it does not work. The bolts for the height adjustment is separate plates that are free floating so as you adjust one up it seems to work but as you continue to adjust each pole they drop back down as the onlt thing holding them up is the other bolts. The steel blade between the coils is not a solid part. it is two separate parts with the bottom one floating and shaking about. The magnets are very powerful to make up for the lack of winds. Is this something to buy to play around with. Yes. Is it something to use to upgrade, modify or repair a bass for actual use or gigging? No. But we knew that from the discount in price.
