These devices are dangerous. I attached one to the f-holes of my violin and it broke the wood, expanding the f-hole. The violin still plays, but it is ruined.

This uses Velcro straps that cannot get it appropriately positioned so that it will stay in one place. It is clearly cheaply made as well as I was scared it would scratch up my instrument.
