- This cage is COMPATIBLE with the original Sun hood for Atomos .The Sun hood frame needs to be fitted before fitting the unit in to the cage and can remains in place providing additional protection and the folding sun hoods can easily be removed.
- An optional SmallRig Sun Hood 2269 is available.

Works well but the 2 main screws that hold it on the monitor do not allow you to add a accessory in the middle.The screw heads extend above the surface.

I wasn't sure if this was going to fit my shinobi monitor because in the description it lists a certain model # and I couldn't find a model # on my monitor or the box for nothing. It does fit and I'm very pleased with it. I have the Atomos Shinobi 5.2".

Like all SmallRig parts, the cage finish was perfect with no sharp edges and very lightweight. Adds a little bit of bulk to the Shinobi but it gives the lightweight plastic case some sturdiness when securing the monitor to various mounts. The HDMI clamp is also very handy to prevent accidental damage to the connector.

Use this on the Shinobi - why wasn't the monitor built around this in the first place? The matching soft (folding) light box fits well too. All this costs about the same as the OEM's proprietary light box !? Quality is excellent.

The cage is lightweight, not adding a lot of bulk to the Shinobi SDI. The cage doesnt get in the way of anything on the monitor and allows for a lot of rigging options. The Shinobi SDI without a cage, feels toyish, and too lightweight. This cage adds just the right amount if weight to give it that substantial feel.The only drawback is that you have to remove the cage to add/remove the Atomos sunhood. Not a dealbreaker, but a small annoyance.
